  1. I suppose we need to know more about the rest of the consortium. Unless they have serious money behind them I can't see them being able to do a lot to appease the fans.
  2. Let's just say I really hope there are some alternative bids. Shepherd delivered some temporary almost-success, there's no arguing with that. But he leeched the club for his personal gain and left us in a very poor financial state. I hope he's learned the lessons from his last spell in charge, remains to be seen. One thing's for sure, he doesn't have the wealth to spend much money, without further increasing our debt burden. The one good thing that Ashley has done is clear some of the debt, so I wouldn't want to see that go to waste.
  3. I really can't see this getting sorted in time for us to sort out the squad for the start of next season. Obviously that will have loads of cons and one pro, that we will keep the likes of Beye and Bassong for a bit longer.
  4. I suppose if you know you're going to every game next season, whatever happens, you may as well save a few quid by getting a season ticket.
  5. We're already in a position where the majority of the playing staff need to be replaced and there is no meaningful coaching or management structure, so I don't think that side of things could deteriorate much further in the eyes of a buyer. Another relegation would be the only thing I could see that would have that effect, and presumably things will be sorted before then (!).
  6. Aye that's exactly right. They're just blowing the cash on expensive rent-a-strikers like Bellamy and the blatantly 'obvious' top class players who are happy to whore themselves around for megawumba. If you look at Chelsea's first signings, aye - they were well known but were sorta made up of hungry expensive players, like you say. I'm talking under Ranieri aswell, he still guided them to second place. Yeah, I can see that Hughes is kind of trying to buy players with premiership experience to bring consistency, the problem is that the ones he's going for (Santa Cruz, Bellamy) are either average or also have superstar egos. I can't see Man City cracking the top 4 next season.
  7. Seems like Man City are a bit like Chelsea without the intelligence. I mean, Roman spent loads but he had Mourinho there to get some lesser known, hungry players to make it all work. Without that Man City are just spraying money everywhere.
  8. Can't see O'Leary finding his way back into a top job, can you?
  9. I think you're right TT... bearing that in mind it wouldn't be a disaster if some players did it.
  10. Not sure what happens, but I've got a horrible feeling we're about to find out.
  11. Can't be a local journo if he understands a fair bit.
  12. I'm almost resigned to the fact that we'll be starting the season in this state.
  13. That makes no sense. If anything has to be paid to him then it proves Ashley etc were in the wrong. I think if anything has to be paid to him now, all it proves is that the new owners don't want the issue hanging over them. Don't think it should indicate who is right or wrong. Even if Ashley knew he was right, he might still have to settle to sell the club ASAP. Fair comment. It'll be a pity for us lot though to not find out what really went on. In any case, we all know that if someone settles they're automatically guilty. That's what people in GC reckon anyway. Aye, I was going to make a Michael Jackson pun but then I remembered I've been arguing that he was a genius. I doubt we will ever know what went on with KK, doesn't seem like it's destined for a hearing in open court. Even if it was I don't think that would stop us arguing and speculating on what was true.

  15. Like it Which month do we mean by the way?
  16. If there's another thing they do well, it's buy players for ridiculous amounts.
  17. The stuff Fat Sam said about Derbyshire was stupid, about how he needed the wages to bring in Diouf and some other knacker, and that players needed to do more than just score goals... typical Sam waffle.
  18. I was using a deftly employed Ronan quote man.

    Bramble

Always thought he had potential to be a class player, but SJP is literally the worst place to be a defender... can't thing of a defence that has had more undue scrutiny than ours.
  20. I can't bring myself to hope anymore. I'm just numb to everything and waiting to see what happens now.
  21. It was a shock at first, as our away kits have been conservative recently, but I don't see what the fuss is about TBH. It's not a bad change kit, to call it the 'worst football strip ever' is way over the top.
  22. I had that with 'Barnes - 10' on the back! :-[
  23. We've never had a good one have we? That's the problem with our home kit being so striking and beautiful.
  24. He can go for a far better club than wolves. Not sure about Doyle, still not convinced that he can cut it higher than the Championship.
