  1. Wish I wasn't so far away so I could leave a tribute... will donate instead.
  2. The things I admire about Bobby are nothing to do with football really. A gentleman, compassionate, positive, noble, dignified... just an absolute example to us all.
  3. If only all of us good show his positivity and unflappable bravery in the face of adversity, an example to everyone of how to live and die. Welling up properly at the BBC stuff
  4. Reflective silence is always better than applause IMO, there's a time for celebration but not before mourning.
  5. Yep, he belongs a little to Newcastle, Ipswich, Fulham, Barca and the rest... loved wherever he went and by whoever he met. Shows that nice guys can achieve a lot.
  6. Sorry he had to see such a period of turmoil.
  7. Just about summed it up TRon and TT, no surprises he's off really, and can't blame him either.
  8. You deserve to get sacked if you browse the forum when working Fuck, do you?
  9. Not sure which is more negative, if it's true or it's not true.
  10. You're probably right, but not sure I want to tell him to 'fuck off' based on quotes from a 'close friend'.
  11. It won't be. We're talking about Ashley et al remember. FFS, he hasn't taken any money out of the club. To suggest every penny that comes in from transfers should go out on transfers is stupid, the bottom line is what counts. The bottom line is we have one less striker. Way to switch angles on me. My focus is on getting back to the premier next season. At the moment there is now less chance of that happening, obviously if we buy a replacement who can do the business for less money then that's great, but if and when that happens I'll change my view accordingly. Fine, but I was responding about finances. If money wasn't an issue obviously I would rather keep every decent player we have, but sadly it is.

  14. I see a third option though, he sucks it up and stays, then we don't get relegated.
  15. IMO there's only one way to see if they're ready - give them a go. We don't have any better options.
  16. Think you contradicted yourself there a bit, he's not done much in the last few years but he belongs in the Champions League?
  17. Well, it's easy to be loyal to your employer when you can't get a better job.
  18. I feel they're probably making them to score brownie points with the public.
  19. Have you just made that up though? We don't anything about the details of the bids or anything like that, how can we say whether or not Ashley is being unrealistic? Ashley's tenure to date tells us he is an arrogant prick who believes he can do what he wants and get what he wants. The man believed we could succeed without investing in the first 11, that he could appoint KK and then fuck him off without expecting a reaction, let Hughton get on with it, expect managers to fall over themselves to come, appoint JK.......etc Are you suggesting we give Ashley any benefit of doubt? I don't know, everyone can make their own mind up. I'm not going to get into Ashley's corner on anything, but it seems to me that he would be desperate to get out. I don't have any evidence of that, it just seems to make sense.

  21. They don't have to say anything, just get the club sold. Exactly, that's what I mean. If the Chronicle or The Mag think that Ashley is realistically going to give details about what is happening they're living in a dreamworld. Sadly all we can do is wait and hope something happens as soon as possible. No we don't have to wait and hope, the local media can certainly make things very uncomfortable for Ashley to string everyone along and contemplate jsut letting the club drift to oblivion. Knowing there is a public storm on the verge of being whipped up give Ashley a bit more incentive to take the best offer and get lost. Surely Ashley is already desperate to get out though? I wouldn't have thought we can make him sell any faster than he already wants to.

  23. ...a quality player who doesn't want to play for a joke club any more? This basically what makes me say I'll just wait and see. I don't blame any player for wanting out of the club at the moment, I imagine most of them would rather be elsewhere.
