Think Willock has just as many weaknesses as ASM, they're just different ones. We don't have that many genuinely top players, each one is a bit of a gamble. -

If we hit any form at all we have a very good chance, given the points and games in hand. -
When it clicks it can be amazing. Guess you just need something, either the circumstances or the stuff happening on the pitch, to give more people the drive to join in. That's part of the reason I think a more explicit effort to conduct the fans would be needed. Otherwise you have to just wait and rely on what is happening in the game. Which is fine and normal, but won't ever get the level of crazy that some people are looking for.

My impression of ultras sections in other countries is that they're pretty grass-roots and organised by a small group of passionate people. At Nice for example, they were even selling their own merchandise in the concourse at half time. At Palmeiras it seemed like anyone was allowed to sit and stand basically anywhere once they were through the gates, I didn't get anywhere near the seat on my ticket Guess it would need to both, from the bottom up and with the club behind it to allow and amplify what they do.

Think it's important to make a distinction between being great fans and the home atmosphere being loud. The media and perception is generally correct, we have fans that would do anything for their club. We could have sold out the whole of Wembley on our own. We have extremely passionate fans. It's not wrong to say we have great fans and I don't think we should be too critical about it. I think it's more a question of practical things at games which either promote or inhibit singing.

But each one is still an expected goal, so why does it matter that it's from a corner? -

Yeah agree, but we're also too cringey to stand up on our own and start a song (generally). I just don't think consistent singing will arise naturally. Maybe a section becoming known would be a start, but it would have to be large enough to make an impact. That's why I was thinking the whole gallowgate. -

Even someone just managing the tempo would make a massive difference in SJP, everyone just gives up because the songs are too fast to keep up with. -

Yep, TBF Americans are a lot more confident as a rule And they probably just Google and copy the best ultras they can find. -
He looks guilty.

I think for consistent loud noise in home games you need a large section which is known for being ultra (the whole Gallowgate would do) along with individuals (and maybe drums etc) to direct the crowd. That's pretty common in Europe and the Americas, it's an interesting phenomenon that we've never had it in the UK. Maybe we're too British to be open to such a display. Also clubs don't facilitate it or bow to what the fans really want. Went to Palmerias in Brazil last week and one end was bouncing throughout, flags and drums going even during the game. Rest of the stadium was quite average except when slagging the referee Even MLS teams have this kind of thing. -
Marshall's is the old-school favourite mind. Admittedly everything about Longsands is objectively better.

That's what I meant above, may as well give him a chance now. -

Does that make sense? Isn't xG based on how good the chance is? How likely we are to score an individual chance is one thing, but in the abstract they will still count for a number of xG like they do for every team. -
He overran the ball on another one as well, when he was receiving. Looked the fault of the passer but IMO it was him for not holding in the space. He's also so extremely left footed that he's never going to be happy going down the outside. So that's a decision for the coaches if they can accept it. Nothing's really changed in the Miggy debate except he went through an unreal patch which has now ended.

Think there’s a good argument to stick with him for the rest of this season. That’s the only way he has a shot of feeling comfortable and in tune with the team. He does frustrate me obviously, but not much more than a few others. -

They have two world class CBs, arguably the best DM in the world and the most in-form striker in the league. Always hard to separate the manager from it all but they do have some excellent players and their biggest weakness has been fixed. -
I like him as a lad but he’s not going to help us. Even that shot he missed in the final, he hit it with no real intention or belief in how he was going to score. If we had two target men he could cross to, maybe.
-
Not common on corners though.

Yeah, and I don’t even have tickets for Wolves. Will be an age since I’ve been to a game. -
Calm down, I’m pretty sure he knew this was a project. We had basically a championship team when he arrived.

7 usually. Not sure, we can tweak. 40? No.

Having an elite sport where nobody knows the rules is canny worrying when you think about it.

Normally Gabby but there would be something wrong about it. Like he’s too mentally challenged to be a legitimate target. -
Yeah 'course, other things to factor in.
