Pope didn't make contact deliberately though, not sure what you mean by 'knew what he was doing'.
-
I would like something like "has Nick Pope fouled Raul Jimenez to stop him getting the ball, and was Jimenez trying his best to continue and score". No? OK, move on.
-
If it was given I would be saying it was extremely soft. The bar needs to be much higher, and fans should be calling for that. You can't be awarding free goals for stuff that's this soft/debatable.
-
I think he's relatively similar to Rashford actually, although maybe better playing centrally than off the left. Also arguably better natural movement off the ball.
-
He's not bracing for impact like, that's incredibly generous The fact there are so many people on both sides shows that the ref was within his rights and VAR were correct not to overrule him. It's subjective at the end of the day, there's never going to be a definitive answer.

I don't think I would want it if one of my players did that TBH, attackers shouldn't be able to initiate contact and deliberately dive.

I know Ando has achieved cult status, but he gets on my tits. -
Don’t agree at all, it’s at the very least debatable. Raul scoops the ball and dives in one motion, the contact with Pope is after he’s already in the air. Also, the touch is quite bad and he may not have got to the ball anyway. Really don’t understand this desire to give game-changing penalties for very questionable stuff, it’s like people are just gagging for the drama no matter how much it ruins the game. Obviously I expected it to be given like.

Great to meet you mate, glad we delivered the win to reward you for the drive.

I’m starting to think it’s Longstaff who needs to come out when Joelinton is back. If Big Joe or Willock can play on the right of the 3.

What’s ‘me me me ‘ about a massive club photo? Silly bugger
-
It’s a red if it’s not attempt to play the ball. If they judge it’s a goalscoring opportunity, which is not clear because the ball might have gone out of play. Wasn’t a foul anyway.

And they should have had zero.
-
What on Earth? That’s bizarre.

Thought it was better today as well, maybe everyone sensed it was a chance to get a vital win. I do think atmosphere is driven by situation and events on the pitch more than people think.

I thought he was good today, not perfect but was clearly looking to release Isak as part of the plan. No worries about him starting every week now TBH. -
Almost a fan of his now. Limited in a lot of ways but has always cared a lot about the cause and does have his strengths. Would love him to score and get a chance to go mental in front of the Gallowgate. Be interesting to see if Miggy comes back in.
-
From not being able to play in a back four (lol) to dominating forwards on his own. Sexy bastard.
-
The ref was very emphatic about it not being a pen as well, waved it away immediately. Not sure if that influenced the VAR at all.
-
He scoops the ball and falls in one motion IMO, nothing to do with anything Pope does. Good decision.

Thought Howe was class today. After Wolves made their subs and started having some joy, I noticed he called Burn over and had a word. After that Burn was engaging Neto higher up and really stifling him better. Could be reading too much into it but it’s nice to see those changes being made.
-
From the Leazes it looked to me like Raul touched the ball and went down in one motion, as Pope was pulling out. Still expected it to be given mind, since really soft pens are given all the time.
-
I thought the foul on Murphy was a red, wasn’t an attempt to play the ball and he was through it he’d got past.
