I haven't seen Ashley show any ambition at all in his time at the club. Yeah he balanced the books by paying off debt but he want's to make a profit, that's all and he will. He doesn't give a f*ck about the club. I've yet to be convinced of that and never will be. That chap is spot on yet not a soul is laughing are they?

There's too much emphasis being placed on Keegan's knowledge (or lack of) regarding foreign players and the market in general (emphasis being on abroad players). How the fuck can a fella, that 1st time around, brought in foreigners in the shape of GINOLA, ASPRILLA, ALBERT, just 'suddenly' not have a knowledge of the market abroad? If he was left to recruit his own players I bet he'd have fucking spotted and recruited far, far better players than Wise any day of the week. It's really simply in that managers manage, recruit, offload and get players to perform. Why we've got to follow the 'continental' way is fucking beyond me.

Current events at NUFC have changed my perception of life in the Premiership. I think I've always taken it for granted that NUFC would ALWAYS be in it and challenging for major honours. Now that were are fighting with the rest at the bottom, it's really made me realise just how f*cked up the entire club and region would be if we went down. I've seen the word to describe this used once and there is no better word for it. Catastophic. It's knocked me a little with regard to what I think we should be achieving if we do stay up. All those people who predicted a finish this season of say 8th-12th. I apologise because initially I though we should be far higher than this. If we survive this season and and finish 8-12th next season without cause for concern then I'll be eternally grateful. That's how much shite we are in right now so I'd take that kind of finsih as real progress. It's unthinkable to even consider rebuilding in the Championship. It MUST be in the Premier League.

If you had to choose, who, in your opinion, was the greatest of the two? Maybe this thread should sit within the'Media slag Toon' type of thread but I was listening to Steve Curry of The Daily Express (Chief Sports Writer) on Sky Sports News and his thoughts about NUFC. I can't recall word for word what he said other than "Newcastle United FC is a joke" and this was based on the fact that we'd appointed Kevin Keegan, Mike Ashley is a joke standing amongst NUFC supportes with his black 'n white top on and we are an even bigger joke if there is any truth in the rumour that we are interested in David Beckham. I'd like to see it happen personally and believe that Coleman is a good motivator (not in the same way that Keegan is) but still he didn't do a bad job at Fulham. I think he'll easily gain the respect of the players 1) because he did a decent job at Fulham 2) He knows what is required to operate in the EPL 3) It would be Keegan's appointment and in that I trust and 4) when was the last time the club had a decent number 2 with any sort of credentials? Not true really as I didn't get a single vote within the 2007 Forum awards. Anyway, back on track.....in my humble opinion Smith has been awful.
