Well, I hope UEFA clawed something back from the "big teams" in return for not booting them out??
-
Yeah it would have to be an agreement across Europe and football across the world. Football cant just keep looking for the next massive TV deal, at some point these avenues will run out. This is now a chance to put some sustainability in football for its own long term health.
-
Nah, i think the current league format is fine, its probably time to look at salary caps and transfer limits to help sustain football rather than endlessly looking for the next mega TV deal to save the so called Big Clubs.
-
Yeah I get that, they could have a debate about it, the clubs, the fans, the country itself deciding on how they want to their national game to move forward after Covid. Im not fussed about Celtic and Rangers, I was thinking more about Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs, Dundee and Dundee Utd etc.
-
It would be hugely beneficial for them as it would be more turnstile clicks from traveling fans and may boost local support to see new clubs visiting their stadiums. A combined league with Scotland, England and Wales would go some way to creating some good leverage for a TV deal.
-
It has to be all of the clubs from Scotland or none at all, and i dont know how you could fairly filter them into the English league structure.
-
I had something similar but with Fulham going down in 18th.

Their new mid week league will break the competition of the Premier League, im sure there are rules in their but I suppose time will tell.
-
Ashley relies on us being bottom feeders who get spanked off the big clubs coming to our stadium, its the best advertising space he has to peddle his garbage brands to wider audiences.
-
These are the only options. Give them an ultimatum that they cant play in the Premier League and play in un official mid week league. The choice is theirs to make, lets see how quickly they bottle it when the bread and butter gets threatened.
-
Its the early stages of a wider footballing franchise body, eventually in years to come, if it ever really does go ahead. They will drop the invites to others and teams will be invited to apply as a permanent expansion team but will have to pay a fortune to be a member.
-
I dread the idea of Charnley representing us in this meeting, the biggest meeting in football in this country for the last 30 / 40 years and we have this moron at the table.
-
If they value the competition of the league above all else then the fans will have to accept a punishment. I think a line has been crossed now, they either back down or the rest of the footballing world makes their new league redundant, empty and worthless.
-
I think these 6 clubs need to be very careful of what they are proposing, it may end up with the remaining 14 + 6 championship clubs forcing the issue and booting the 6 out of the Premier League. The new version of the Premier League could then set some more sensible rules on transfer caps, salary caps and fan ownership.

We will pick up a point at best.

"He wanted to stay to clear up this mess he's got them in" Get lost man.
-
We are the boot cut jeans of the footballing world.
-
Millions of pounds and he knows he wont get an real earache as the fans are not allowed in the stadium. Its just a waiting game until Bruce gets his pay off.
-
Its all very appalling.
