  1. 11 in 20 league games so far. Totally on course to smash that 39 goals shitness.
  2. To be quite frank, after McLeish, then Lambert, next time there's a referendum, I'll be campaigning for yes. obviously, of course, I am joking, the club has a long Scottish connection going back to George Ramsay and William McGregor, two of the men most involved in our foundation and years of domination (and, in the case of McGregor, inventing the football league).
  3. This is true. Last season, towards the end when we were yet again fighting a relegation battle, Randy Lerner released a statement, on a Sunday, saying he was going to say something about the ownership situation at the end of the season, and he was "really disappointed people aren't focusing on the exceptional result we got yesterday". The result he was referring to? We'd just drawn 0-0 at home to Southampton. That fucking says it all, really.
  4. When they've probably never had to pay for a ticket in their lives. Staggering really that pundits can have the nerve, and for it to be so widespread amongst them. Spot on, as per last post. It makes me want to puke up at least one, and possibly both of my kidneys.
  5. Your situation sounds like a mirror image of our in regards to the lack of pressure on a complete fraud of a manager. Hopefully you can have a Steve Parish of your own. it is precisely the same thing at work - the football "industry" protects its own. That means managers always "doing a good job", regardless of the actual evidence, or journalists who are so detached from the experience of fans who actually pay loads of their hard earned money to watch matches that they're basically reporting on a totally different event. I saw something the other week, that absolute cuntbubble Richard Keyes tweeting about how Malky Mackay deserves another chance (wherever he is) as he's "a great football man". What on fucking earth is that phrase even supposed to mean?
  6. I spoke to a mate today, as he left Villa Park after our 89 minute toil against Blackpool. He started describing how depressing and generally mindbendingly shit it was to watch, how sad he felt, sat there watching it (with a nice trip up from London and then back down again after thrown into the mix), that I honestly thought he was about to start crying. He's a 45 year old solicitor, too, not some overly excitable teenager. On the bright side, for the first time, real, sustained anti-Lambert chanting going on. What will happen is, ultimately (probably after about another three years of this guff), Lambert will get the sack and the national media will weigh in about how we've driven him out, when I genuinely can not think of another manager producing so many piss poor results and getting granted so much patience from the fans. Most clubs, he'd have been hounded out after the first season, but with us he got total support. It took another season of utter shite for him to lose support. Still, those cunts on Sunday Supplement won't be able to even begin to work their tiny brains around that, they'll just pile in and blame the fans.
  7. 3rd in a row makes it sound like something does, occasionally, happen, which puts an undeserved gloss on our season.
  8. I think it is more about Berahino thinking he's above playing for Ollbeeyun.
  9. Sulky arsed Berahino not celebrating.
  10. If someone asked me if I'd swap Lambert for McClaren right now, I absolutely would.
  11. We wanted to move it to Sunday but Leicester Tigers egg chasers are at home so it would clash Ah, got you. Ta.
  12. I realise this has prob been asked 100 times in this thread, but how come your game is today rather than tomorrow like all the other PL teams?
  13. I genuinely think I might start crying soon, this is so horrific to watch.
  14. Premier League minutes per goal ratio this season: Cisse - 70 Aguero - 75 Giroud - 92 Costa - 104 Aston Villa - 160
  15. Vlaar off with a thigh strain AGAIN Thats why he won't get a big move, constantly injured and never just for a game here and there, for weeks at a time.
  16. Say what you like about him, but he's a snappy dresser, isn't he? If you fancy giving him a good hiding, I reckon you'll find him in Selfridges after the game, sporting a s***-eating grin and a basket full of Paul Smith suits Want to do it for us mate? I would do, but I'm not prepared to go within 30 miles of Villa Park today, as it'd automatically ruin my christmas.

I see this argument with regard to our manager, too. This is the logic here. "Alan Pardew is a fucking terrible manager" Therefore, this means that following this logic, there are literally hundreds of managers less shit than Alan Pardew So, regarding some random manager we hear: "He's better than Pardew, I'd have him" So, having spent ages saying that Pardew is an awful manager, surely the flip side of that is that if a manager is "better than Pardew", it doesn't really mean very much, as Pardew is fucking useless. Which makes "better than Pardew" the absolute most pointless basis on which to consider a new manager.

I'm wary of sticking my oar in here as an outsider, but I always find that when I see someone say "fans" (note inverted commas), my heart sinks and I assume the rest of the post will be some sort of "not a proper fan" nonsense.
  20. When Houllier left us, Lerner interviewed Benitez. After 15 minutes, it became clear that the sort of money Benitez wanted to spend was massively out of kilter with what Lerner was prepared to spend, and he cut the interview short. That was posted by the son of a director of the club on one of the forums, so absolute 100% gospel etc etc. Benitez is not going to go anywhere in this country without big money to spaff.
  21. If we sacked Lambert tomorrow (which we won't, because the only way we'll get shot of him is if Lerner sells, which he won't, which therefore renders this entire sentence utterly, eye-bleedingly fucking depressing), I would be quite happy with McLaren.
  22. Absolutely no offence, but your stadium wasn't even that good 30 years ago. You must have got some people who knew their shit in charge in that period to get what you have now.
  23. This reminds me of the feeling we had when Gerard Houllier left us. We were bemused by the circumstances of the departure, but we didn't really care, as we knew he was gone, and we could start to get back where we thought we deserved to be, sure that at the very least we'd start to be more positive in games. We were so excited that we could get behind the new man, it had to be better than that season we had just had. Then :-((((((
  24. Too right he is. I wish Lambert would start him. N'Zogbia is like Bent, pretty much retired these days, yet he gets the nod. Sunderland were truly awful. Absolutely awful.
  25. Zaha will be shipped back to Manchester and all. In fairness, Zaha is fucking rubbish these days. Even I noticed that, and i watch fucking rubbish players week in, week out.
