Which is, I am sure, what the thinking will be. Like I said, I know it's not a glamorous signing, but it is a clever one. Like our signing Calum Chambers.
-
He is excellent defensively but not so good going forward. If you've got someone in front of him who knows what they're doing in the attacking sense, he's very good indeed. I am surprised we've let him go on loan, he was excellent last season (after a difficult first one). I know we've signed Digne, who is better, but I'm surprised we've sent him out on loan in any case. I understand why there won't be thousands of fans at the airport (metaphorically) for a signing like this, but he's absolutely solid.

With Trippier and Targett, your defence is instantly way, way improved.

Everton. I reckon Grealish will go there in the next couple of years.
-
Absolutely, this. We're so unlucky with injuries. We had Grealish out for about six months with 'a bruised kidney'. That wasn't even a fucking injury before that. I'm surprised Coutinho hasn't done his ACL yet.
-
For context: Watford absolutely murdered us in every area of the pitch that day.
-
To be fair to him, he was magnificent that season. This is a strange one. I can't see why we'd do it. Gerrard likes them more attacking than Targett is, but even so, strange.
-
SIx months left on contract apparently so no money involved.
-
I’d take that. Seriously. i don’t get it with Luiz. lopes around and gives the ball away a lot.
-
BTW we tend to do a few transfers that come completely out of the blue. This one, Danny Ings. Weird.
-
Cover at right back and centre half, now Tuanzebe has gone. A free transfer, so i can see the thinking. Tuanzebe was a loaner and not really particularly good tbh so I am fine with this.
-
This. He's fucking hopeless. I wouldn't even want us spending any money on him (again). Basically, not a footballer.
-
Fuck gentrification.

Ah that's a shame. The owner dead too (13 years ago! fuck!) - that's a shame. He used to appear in Viz, I seem to remember. Had some great nights down the Bigg Market and then to the Rupali. Before people started going down the Quayside to drink instead. In my time there were two reasons to be down the quayside at night - desperate grab a granny nights at Julie's, or decent beer at the Cooperage (which is probably a fucking hotel nowadays)

Just once more, as I have already said this, but having watched him at close quarters here and subsequently at the Dogheads, I can not for the life of me understand why Spurs want Adama Traore. He's not even a footballer.
-
He'll get a lot of goodwill from fans of other clubs, good to see him back. Although personally, I think he's nuts, no matter how much he likes playing football. I like drinking beer and eating curry but if I'd found myself clinically dead from doing it, only to survive, I wouldn't be heading down the Rupali* any time soon. *please tell me the Rupali is still there

Clause expired last year. He’s at best decent. Gives the ball away far too often for my liking.
-
He's a bit on and off. When he's on, he's excellent, though. I think we look OK, need to convert some relatively decent football into goals more often though.
-
Late to the party on this one. Targett is defensively very solid indeed. Had a poor first season with us, then a brilliant second one (think he was player of the year, or thereabouts). If we let him go, it'll be because he doesn't offer enough going forward, and attacking full backs is a key tenet of Gerrard's way of playing. If you're looking for a defensively very strong full back, though, Targett is definitely that. I'd much rather keep him, even if he's now behind Digne.
-
There's no way it will be us. We're not about to spend that much on a centre half.
-
Not from an ageing racist prick, no.
-
You're 19th in the table and in a bad place. You can't just pretend that doesn't make a difference. We had to actually get relegated and almost go into administration before our rich owners rescued us and we started moving in the right direction. You are at an earlier phase in disaster recovery. It's bound to be tougher with stuff like this.

Jacob Ramsey has frightening potential. His younger brother is at the club too, and reckoned to have always been more promising.
-
I would be utterly amazed if that were true. He is absolute garbage, too.
