Completely agree. Been to Brighton away a few times on the train and it’s just shite. Got to get a 20 min train from the city centre to essentially the middle of nowhere. Class leaving one of the bars in Newcastle city centre and following the sea of people up to SJP.

Think the Watford game, whilst frustrating was also down to the mindset of some of the players who immediately and against Howe’s wish went into “protective mode” which ultimately cost us. Thankfully we didn’t see that against Everton or Leeds and we weren’t really threatened. Villa to an extent we did, but think the changes forced upon us killed us tbh. Even then though, we defended well and managed the game well.

Really excited about our future under Howe, we just need to stay up.

Could see the new training ground being built in Gosforth Park tbh. New stadium down where the arena is, when the new one over Gateshead opens it would render the current one useless. Loads of land down there and not too far from the current ground.

I think Targett is a much better fit in our side like, considering ASM’s reluctance to get back and defend. His influence, and BDB’s could be what sees us through without Trippier. Two very astute signings based off admittedly not a lot in a black and white shirt, but their form previously was decent. I was gutted we never got Targett under Benitez, thought it was going to make him resign actually as he was reportedly very pissed off on that deadline day IIRC.

What I like most about Howe is his constant striving to be better. Staying up isn’t something he will celebrate, and if that does happen and we come top half next season, he won’t be happy with that too. I know I shouldn’t bring him up again, but it is just a complete and utter different Universe to our last “manager” who was delighted finishing 17th.

It’s getting to a point now where they’re essentially a Sheffield Wednesday or a Nottingham Forest, a decent sized club with a big fanbase dwelling in the lower leagues. They’re what I expected us to become under Ashley, in fact if the takeover never happened we would be on our way to join them with Bruce “running” the show.
