  1. Switzerland played Korea in the final group game of the 2006 WC. He assisted the goal that made it 2-0 Switzerland, knocking us out. So the only thing you're missing is that I'm bitter, petty, and Korean.
  2. Surprised he doesn't have his own thread yet. http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41805000/jpg/_41805656_swissshot416.jpg I am still bitter about five years ago, but hey, signing for Newcastle would go a long way towards helping me forgive and forget.

    Alan Pardew

Sounds like we've finally got some sort of player liaison officer  Good news that, all this good PR will only help the club and help attract other players. It's absolutely insane that some clubs will pay a gazillion dollars for a player and won't even give him the most basic of help to settle in the area. Good that we're finally catching up.
  4. Wickham isn't ready for prem yet imho, he needs game development time which can the mackems afford given they need strikers now The frightening thing about Sunderland is that in their current state, Ji Dong-Won would probably have to start if they insist on playing 4-4-2
  5. i would assume that pandaminator was not really referring to that particular part of the scotland-england historical dynamic like Ah, right. Braveheart.
  6. In my defense, I only the good Korean players.
  7. I knew someone was going to pull that. We are not even going to attempt to compare the Japanese invasion and subjugation of Korea to the political union of England and Scotland. We're just not. I apologize for daring to mention an opinion I should probably have kept to myself, and I'm willing to just drop my point before this starts going to even uglier places.
  8. This is not about football. This is much more about domestic UK politics and it's probably also about face-saving for Scottish football and the SFA (and for that matter Welsh & Northern Irish). I wasn't talking about football either, but really I've just realized that this is a fight that I so do not need to start.
  9. I know it's insensitive of me but I just think the whole "we're not British, we're Scottish" thing is a bit silly at this point, that's all. In retrospect, probably an opinion I should have kept to myself
  10. Eh? Scottish people are British people, right? Wrong? Have you ever watched Braveheart? I know the history you nonce. They're still British.
  11. Eh? Scottish people are British people. Wrong?
  12. Seems kind of pointless to hate the very existence of the country you're part of and will be forever.
  13. So, who do you think will get to be the token Northern Irish player?
  14. Have you got a link to that? This daft c*** sitting opposite me doesn't believe a word, and came out with the same s**** when I broke the transfer to him via your initial post. http://news.naver.com/sports/index.nhn?category=soccer&ctg=news&mod=read&office_id=241&article_id=0002047429 It won't help though it's in Korean. Good thing I translate things for a living.
  15. Like I've mentioned, he's not going to be an immediate starter but he's the same age as Nile Ranger and better. Nile Ranger is probably worth 2m.
  16. Sunderland have agreed to pay 2m for Ji Dong-Won even though he has a release clause of 800k. His club refused to honor the release clause, calling it "too low for a player of his stature." After about two weeks of telling them they can't do that, apparently they've just given up and decided to cough up more money.
  17. Ahmed Khalil is the real deal as far as I can tell. Yoo Byung-Soo can't get into our national squad despite us not having produced a good goalscorer for the last decade. That should tell you all you need to know. Didn't even know any of the rest of those guys existed.
  18. Just recalled that I had him, Marveaux, and Ben Arfa on one of my first Football Manager Live games Nailed on to happen then.
  19. Sturridge's wages would probably make him prohibitive regardless of the fee.
  20. ...I did watch one game where he played. Worked out pretty well for him. http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0fin41J8mf0c5/350x.jpg
  21. ...Steven Taylor, Peter Ramage, David Edgar, Nolberto Solano...
  22. I was pretty happy when he left to be honest.
  23. I just feel like it's a big risk. He's only had a good 12-match spell in the Premiership during which his record was only slightly better than Leon Best's. Yeah, he looked fantastic doing it, but I wouldn't go as far as to call him the best signing we could possibly make.
  24. I'd feel a bit antsy about paying 20m for anyone myself, regardless of how good he is. Unsure if it's a risk I want us to take.
