  1. We're probably four really good players off having an outside shot at the top six but we're an infinity away from getting anywhere near fourth place. There's a big difference.

    Craig Gardner

Was very "meh" about this yesterday. "PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE SIGN HIM" today.
  3. Being a true bipolar football fan, If that happens, I'll go delete all my sappy posts.
  4. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00233/nolan_barton_05_619_233961a.jpg Two years where a group of flawed individuals came together as more than the sum of their parts to drag this club back from the edge of oblivion. You may have not been the best players/manager but thanks for making me not hate everyone involved with my club again. For better or worse, it's over now guys. Feel free to reminisce.

    Joey Barton

Him staying is impossible at this point. Those CM links better come off.
  6. This is exactly like sacking Hughton imo. We know he's not the best but he's done well and you'd rather not roll the dice on a replacement while simultaneously pulverizing existing team spirit.
  7. The whole team as we know it is being disassembled man, jesus christ.
  8. The more I think about it the more retarded this is. Worse idea than the Carroll sale for me.
  9. Even if we're keen to sell, it's insane that nobody else would be in for him. For what it's worth I think the club executives never really liked the existence of "this group of lads" and they made up their minds to disassemble what they saw as "player power" as soon as they could afford to do so. That kind of thinking no doubt largely motivated the Hughton sacking and the current ostracizing of Nolan and Barton during the off-season. It's a risky decision and I'm certainly not happy with it. Reeks of Mike Ashley's pathological inability to deal with anybody who has a stronger personality/presence within the club than he does. (Shearer, Keegan etc.)
  10. I don't see how we could possibly convince him to stay with our summer activity. If I'm Jose Enrique I'm looking for a club that could offer me CL football now or at least have a very good chance of doing so in a year's time, because I'm good enough to be starting left-back for such a club. No matter how much money we spend this summer, we're not going to be that.

What was the reason the fact that we were after him had to be secret?

    Gervinho

Who'll miss part of the season anyway. Madness For a fee of something like 12m+ Yes, they really did need another flashy winger who can't finish, didn't they?
  13. Do you realize how much of a buzzkill that was man? I'm on the verge of buying a ticket to Leeds.
  14. I just read through page 270. Dave, may I punch you in the face?
  15. Someone actually suggests a realistic target
  16. Ah, Joaquin. I kind of feel bad that the defining moment of joy in the lifetimes of about 50 million people involves him bawling his eyes out on the pitch.

This is different though, the "international midfielder" was said to be a sure thing. All Douglas knows about this is that we've made a bid. I bet we make bids for a lot of people.
  18. Let's be honest and admit that the primary reason why we think Liverpool will do well next season is because they got Carroll and will therefore succeed just to make us miserable.
  19. I'll agree on the point that all of your cities are basically tiny hovels. Come back when you have 10 million people.
  20. It feels good to know that we're no longer the laughing-stock club of English football.
  21. Hulk would probably cost 35m on his own
  22. From a genuine outsider's perspective, Liverpool wasn't that bad tbh.

    Gervinho

A Porsche a day until he signs.
  24. Wickham is just going to be linked with all 20 Premiership clubs. They'll get it right eventually.
