  1. Hell f***ing fire. Honestly don't know how people can come up with statements like this at times. Yes, of course they bloody have. We wouldn't still be in the division. Cast your mind back to 08/09, and see the effects of a dressing room that genuinely couldn't give two shits. 'Better' players, too. Today we finished the game with Kuqi and Ranger upfront. And we're still comfortably ahead of the relegation pack. Yes, the players care. It's the kind of infuriatingly hyperbolic nonesense that some people can't resist after a defeat sadly Blasphemy! How dare you imply that we don't have the worst, most unmotivated players in the league that we'll all sell anyway?
  2. You remind me of myself when I was 15. Looking in the papers and experiencing feelings of glee when the likes Seyi Olofinjana and John Utaka would score meaningless goals. I feel pity and empathy towards your situation. To answer you inquiry, throwing away top spot in the league to such a poor team and player is obviously very disappointing. Do you think it would be intelligent for Newcastle to sign Park Chu Young if Monaco are relegated? This is Korea man. We don't outgrow nationalism here. He really is ninth choice though. Remember the tragic story of Lee Dong-Gook from Boro? Well, he's one of the eight. As for Park Chu-Young he'd be a great signing if we could buy both him and an actual goalscorer who he can play alongside so he doesn't have to carry the burden of being the main go-to-guy for goals. I'd also myself to death because he's my favorite player ever.

    Joey Barton

Okay, was just reminded of that for some reason. Was a wonderful moment.
  4. Getting good fees for players is pretty much the only thing I trust Mike Ashley to do properly tbh.

Nearly completely irrelevant, but was that last minute equalizer by Beye against Birmingham during the relegation season also a Jonas corner? Or was that goal even during the relegation season?
  6. I think the body language thing is overhyped. But the fact that he hasn't said anything remotely convincing about staying at the club speaks volumes. I thought people were exaggerating earlier on but if he isn't willing to commit at this stage (miles safe), be it in conversation with the supporters or with a pen and the board, i think we can guess he's pretty much out the door. Desperately disappointing. I agree that the media silence from both him AND the club says a lot more than his body language.
  7. You were trying to be funny there right? I'm never sure.
  8. Aye, all Korean players are exactly like Park, same as how all English players are exactly like Ameobi.
  9. Did he really look that disinterested yesterday? I didn't really notice anything.
  10. Don't see anything to debate in that, what I'm curious about is where is the team that drew 0-0 with ManU just 2 games ago? Is the team spirit all but gone or is there some other reason for wildly oscillating commitment and teamwork? Same team spirit imo. We started slow, conceded a jammy goal, could easily have gone level but then conceded a stupid penalty and then the players started not being bothered for somewhat understandable reasons. We could start every match against the best teams with the exact same team spirit but sometimes we'll get lucky, sometimes we'll be unlucky. At the end of the day we're just not a very good side with the players we have available right now so against these teams we'll usually not get a result unless we ride our luck.
  11. What about this Ji Dong-Won guy then. Is he good enough for Prem football? Big guy, good technique, intelligent, nice eye for a pass, can't really score. Same age as Ranger and probably a lot better but we need someone who can come and score double-digits right now.
  12. FAO Baba: How does it feel to concede a late equalizer to South Korea's ninth choice striker?
  13. Man, I just can't hate the Gooch. He's just so big and hillarious. Plus, you got to love a guy who supposedly had Zlatan in a choke hold.
  14. Reckon we'd able to get something better than him for circa £4-5m. Preferably a big, b****** of a centre half. An absolute monster of a man. Who though I don't know but there must be better knocking about. Obviously strikers are the priority though. I wonder what the Gooch is doing lately

    Shola Ameobi

Could we possibly talk him into retiring considering that he'll never be able to leave otherwise?
  16. Don't think it would be easy to replace him without spending Coloccini levels of money.

Still better than Lovenkrands for having vaguely threatening physical attributes and occasionally coming deep to collect the ball instead of hanging on the shoulder of the last man despite having zero ability to beat him.
  18. I can't see it, doesn't fit any sort of target we have gone for before. He is going to be well over priced and that's not exactly Ashley's known market is it? Our past dealings give us a pretty good yardstick for assuming what players are coming in next season. 1. Foreign unknowns 2. Players from lower divisions 3. Players on a free/with contract loopholes that we can get cheaply Overpriced, English, average Premiership players like Carleton Cole is exactly who we won't buy.
  19. It's mental and he's one of their highest earners... Remember Souness saying in an interview that he wanted Boa Morte instead of Luque. Wonder how that would've turned out.
  20. Here come the four minutes of Fergie time
  21. Unbelievable, I'm watching Arsenal grind out a 1-0 lead.
  22. Come on Arsenal fans, boo him so he goes home to cry on twitter again.
  23. Would've been epic if the ref gave a pk for that
  24. Fuck man, why is the ref just watching that and not getting in there and taking control.
