  1. Hughton posts on this board. Has to be. Who are you Chris? I know you're seeing this...

    De Jong

Well, I suppose they can't exactly come out and say "yeah we had a splendid night out with Man City's lobbyists and shared a good laugh about the idea that we could ever punish one of their players for injuring some nobody from a nothing club."
  3. As long as we're panicking, might as well make a topic in General called "when do you think you'll die and how?"
  4. That MOTD is absolutely vomit inducing. I suppose as a dirty foreigner I'm lucky enough to have the option to just walk away from this league and maybe I should seriously entertain it. The sole purpose of the Premiership is becoming to produce a more entertaining "product" for the millions of plastic fans of big clubs across the world. (Yes, I realize the irony of me making this point) The only reason the rest of us exist is to act as a supporting cast to provide token competition and occasionally come through with a charming little charge to 7th or cup run to provide some extra talking points. I've realized this for ages but have chosen to ignore it because I can't stop loving Newcastle, but the events of last night just brought it all down on me again. Slowly but surely it's becoming all about four or five lions in a colosseum. The rest of us are the Jews.

    De Jong

Alan smith finally has his chance to do something for the club.
  6. Tiote clearly had more black power than toure today
  7. Jesus Christ, I feel like I'm an arsenal fan now. Would like to punch Kidd in the face for that tripe.
  8. Two blatant penalties not given for us, two blatant non-events given against us in a grand total of eight matches. And I still haven't forgotten that we went down because of a wrongly disallowed Mark Viduka goal and a plethora of other utterly idiotic decisions that season. Either the refs are all closet Sunderland supporters or someone is not "paying up." This has gone beyond the point where we can just shrug and say "everyone gets their share of bad decisions"
  9. The 4-5-1 makes sense in some aspects. Striker is clearly the weakest area of the squad and it makes sense for us to try and play as few as possible. Hughton just didn't count on Nolan being turboshit. Fair play, now man up and fix it. We were relegated the last time I said this, but... I'm willing to give Shola a chance.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I wish. By the looks of that thread it's 12 weeks to "walk." If you're lucky. God knows how long to play professional football.
  11. Should've brought him on instead of Carroll just to go up to De Jong and launch a studs-first flying tackle at his nose.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Whenever I hear about him in the news now I'll think that in some alternate future he was player of the season 2010/2011 and has three great seasons with us, then moves to Real Madrid netting us 30 million pound which Chris Hughton uses to build a top 7 side. Of course, no doubt the media will completely sweep this under the rug and De Jong will be allowed to continue to do whatever he (and Mancini) wants: at least until he injures someone from Man U, Chelsea, or Arsenal, of course.
  13. Well just have to beat them 6-0 so not even the ref can screw us over.
  14. Good show today after 2 poor games. Obviously still inconsistent but there's a good keeper in there somewhere
  15. We will come back with a performance against wigan. Fury has reignited my faith.
  16. Jumped ahead of Williamson in the pecking order today, although we might get Campbell-Williamson for a while depending on the severity of the Colo injury.
  17. Hughton made the right man management choice imo. Carroll was looking like he was believing in his own hype and didn't look like he had that drive that he used to in the last few games. It's not just a matter of not scoring, his general play was poor and he wasn't chasing down the ball and pressuring opponents like we all know he can. If he comes back against Wigan with renewed energy it will all have worked out for the best.

    Ryan Taylor

I'm starting to fear that he'll come on and score an own goal against Wigan just to keep up his "always scores against Newcastle" streak. Can't rule it out with the way our luck's been so far.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I'm starting to get over it. Signing Ben Arfa was always a huge bonus, none of us expected it to happen and he's certainly much too good to be playing at a team of our stature. Take him out of the equation and we lose something special, but we've still got one of the better sides out of the survival-chasers. We can stay up with what we have.
  20. I don't know whether I should die laughing at the fact that Liverpool are losing to blackpool at home or shed tears of blood that they have more points than us.

It's a broken leg, how much more serious does it get for a footballer? Death? Beheading. Shola seems fine.
  22. Sack them all and replace them with robots. I'd rather have goal line technology, video reviews, and all the other scary technology that FIFA swears will destroy the game than the bent group of idiots we have right now.
  23. At times I just feel terrible that I'm so devoted to a game that can be very easily decided by the whims (or corruption, or incompetence, or whatever) of one man who has nothing to do with events on the pitch.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Probably be sending him back to Marseille. So much hope and promise down the drain.
