  1. That news about the golf is huge, and I think very good for us. The Saudis are now fully embedded and accepted in world sport and therefore are going nowhere. Meanwhile some of the spotlight is taken off us as we become a smaller fish in their portfolio. Suits me fine. Steady & sensible continual investment & ambition is perfect for us. I bet UEFA are looking at this news nervously, because if/when the Super League does happen the Saudis will likely be at the heart of it. Wouldn't be surprised if the EPL took on board the big European teams and thus making the Premier League the official Super League, rather than being the unofficial one. I think it could possibly work too, by making the PL ran by the English FA but allowing the big Euro teams to compete in it. Create an extra relegation spot specifically for European teams so that the lowest placed Euro team gets relegated back to their home nation league system. Then their place in the PL is contested for by a play-off competition involving the winners of the other European leagues. It would mean the likes of Real and Barca sacking off their home leagues of course but, as we found out today, huge money talks. Well, I think it's a decent idea anyway.
  2. If Allardyce sends Everton down then all of his NUFC sins are forgiven.
  3. Yep, he's class. And he's currently spontaneously combusting watching this.
  4. Tactical masterclass. Well done Edward, very well done.
  5. Superb 1st half with Almiron being particularly impressive. Atmosphere absolutely pitiful though and you'd never guess what was at stake.

First time I have watched that lot this season. Enjoyable game and Luton totally deserved that win. See you in 5+ years time hopefully Sunlun.
  7. I'm just looking at what I see in front of my eyes bud. A team that looks to be creaking due to being hamstrung in key positions. Agree about the fans on Thursday though. Its a season defining game and the team need the same kind of backing that they got which helped them pull away from the bottom 3 last season.
  8. I thought we were pretty poor against Arsenal to be honest, and wasn't taken in by the "amazing Arsenal" stuff after that game. They were there for the taking that day but we were just really poor in the middle of the park. And then on Saturday we were equally as bad in that area. We aren't playing terribly but we are definitely creaking and to me there is just the feeling that injuries are going to swing momentum away from us.
  9. Liverpool won't drop a point now and will demolish Southampton.
  10. It's about momentum. If we don't win on Thursday then that confirms to me that it's swinging away from us. I really hope I'm wrong but I think the key injuries to Longstaff (and Bruno) are going to shaft us.
  11. If we don't win on Thursday we won't do it. We will go to Stamford Bridge needing a win and that's not going to happen, under those circumstances. Everything resides on beating Brighton I'm afraid.
  12. Whoever wins the Luton/Mackems tie will be the ones promoted. Boro will bottle the final if it’s against Sunderland.
  13. Dreadful 1st half. Bruno has got to be carrying an injury. Play like that 2nd half I can see us getting beat. They look capable of getting another goal.
  14. Nah, but I'd love to get them in a game next season. The Bernabeu is the best stadium in the world IMO.
  15. Not gonna lie, I've not really been fussed about actually being in the Champs League next season, it was just finishing in the top 4 to spite the other lot that has been so appealing to me this season. But watching the Man City v Real Madrid match this week really got me thinking how great it would be seeing us at the likes of the Bernabeu again. So it's going to be pretty gutting if we somehow blow it. Let's get the job done over the next 3 games, please.
  16. I'm nervous about this one, since this lot are now something of an unknown quantity under Allardyce. The simple fact is though, just like the Everton game, these need to be dispatched tomorrow. No ifs, buts or excuses, and we need to be mentally ready for what is to come. No doubt that Allardyce will be instructing them to get under our skin in the hope that we lose our focus and/or have a man sent off, so we need to be properly prepared for the test.

Same. It's been great seeing them so utterly irrelevant in the lower leagues and I want that to continue. Unfortunately though this has a similar to feel to 1990 when they sneaked into the playoffs and then went up fortuitously through Swindon being banned from promotion. I can see the Mackems getting a similar level of luck in these play-offs through some similar kind of means. If they come up it's a win-win for them, no matter if they come straight back down, as the TV money will rectify their dodgy financial position.
  18. I doubt it would make a difference. It will be a really tough game no matter what.
  19. Nah, I'm not worried about Brighton. Their run in is far too difficult to catch us IMO.
  20. Everton will win now, just to top it off.

    Match Atmosphere

Fair do’s, from watching it on the TV, it sounded the best I have heard it in a long time for that first 20 minutes. Tailed off after that but at least it never went quiet for this one.
  22. Man Utd fans will be shitting it tonight but they will get 8 points from their final 4 games. We simply have to beat Leeds next week now or it’s really going to be touch and go for us.
  23. Expressions is hilarious IMO. Troopz, on the other hand, is a cockend of the highest magnitude.
  24. Are you kidding? Because if they beat Brentford they will be a point behind Man Utd. Which also puts extra pressure on us. If you are super-confident that we will get to 72 points then crack on. But pressure and momentum are funny things. And there is also luck, which those Scouse rats always have in abundance.
