  1. Exactly where I am at. Can feel the anger starting to rear it's ugly head again tbh.
  2. I have a feeling this circus will still be going on into the end of June/early July before probably not even happening If it rolls into next week I am officially switching to the "not happening" camp.
  3. It's quite simple really. No announcement by Friday evening and there is something in this, and all bets are off.
  4. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-8308801/Newcastles-300m-takeover-PUSHED-fresh-legal-documents-emerge.html Put the cans away for another week as its not happening by the weekend. Completely fucking bored of this now. Always felt too good to be true didnt it?

They seem rather rattled there. Best batten down the hatches then cos if they think this week is bad, next week will feel like The Alamo.

According to him a SAFC takeover will happen before ours as we wont be confirmed before well into June. I honestly think he might be one of ours on a wind-up.
  7. Even if Caulkin knew that the tests were complete there is no way he would be telling anyone that this was the case, unless he had been given permission by Staveley to do so via one of his columns on The Athletic. Certainly not via twitter or DMs though. 5 crucial days coming up. If we are still sitting here this time next week with no news then it's time to panic IMO.

I think they will get their Dell takeover eventually but might have to wait a couple of years for it to happen in the current and near-future footballing environment. That will be the beginning of their upturn. In the meantime I hope they suffer as much footballing misery as possible. Starting from next week.
  9. I mean, it's perfectly plausible for the PL to think that MBS may one day do something like that. But are they really within their rights to say this is enough reason to block it? It's a sort of bizarre "pre-crime" situation that would surely hold no water if legally challenged. And if this was so important to the PL, why dont they just point blank refuse to let someone own a club if another family member has already beaten them to it?
  10. It's not the piracy issue that might block this, it's sections F.1.2 & F.1.3 seen above in the O&D test, and whether they think MBS would be able to directly/indirectly hold power or influence over Sheffield United.
  11. We'll not be exploding in the same way, it will be expected. Not sure I agree with that. When we got promoted in 93 there was a definite feeling amongst the support that we were going to take the Premier League by storm in our first season. And we did.
  12. The Keegan era was even better. Absolutely magical, even though I rate Robson as a better manager. I think Keegan sold Newcastle to the whole world, beyond winning titles. It probably has a lot to do with the likes of Stavely and the Saudis seeing our potential with this current takeover. Oy yeah, great post Theregulars, agree 100%. Kevin Keegan created the modern-day NUFC and it's his work alone that has allowed the club to remain high profile & still be seen as a big club, despite all of the disgrace of the last 13 years. The fact that mid 1990s NUFC is still long remembered by football fans is a testament to how much good KK did for this club. Anyone who was following the club pre-1992 knows the profound change Keegan brought to Newcastle United. He's probably the most important person in the club's entire history.
  13. Just put into context that all I've know between the ages of 15 & 28 is Ashley. Utterly grim. My condolences.
  14. I just want today's kids in the 18-30 bracket to experience what we did from 92 to 97, where NUFC exploded onto the scene, coming from nowhere to becoming one of the highest profile clubs in the country. The buzz in the city was just fantastic. I feel sorry for the poor sods who have grown up in the Ashley era. An utterly depressing experience throughout. It's time for them to see what this club is really about.
  15. That doesnt sound good from our point of view. Is it the Sheff Utd angle that could scupper this? How could the PL prove that MBS could be in a position to inappropriately influence events between NUFC and SUFC? Surely they cant just say "we think you will influence SUFC to do stuff that helps the cause of NUFC...and vice versa"?
  16. Hairy Hands Keys saying it wont happen as "momentum" is gathering against it.
  17. Anyone who says they are not even remotely concerned obviously hasn't been paying attention over the last few years.

Now they want Ellis Short to come back. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/what-if-short-wanted-to-return.1515879/
  19. Exactly. It's all utter bollocks. Other interested parties will be locked out of any chance of buying until the PL checks are complete and the current buyers have then had a short window to make the payment.
  20. A good time for such a discussion would be when we have been sold, rather than beforehand. It's absolutely pointless unless the sale goes through. Aye, imagine it falls through? We’re already going to look like divvies, even more so after a mass debate about it. Caulkin simply has to know more than even he is letting on by going through with stuff like this when the deal hasn't even been offcially confirmed.
  21. Bottom line is that we as fans are now on a knife edge. It's the all or nothing moment for many, many people because if this fails then those people will be done with football. Me being one of them. There is also the humiliation factor to consider too though. Because, across all social media platforms all of the major fans representatives are talking about the future of NUFC like this is a done deal. So we might not only have the heartbreak of a collapsed deal to contend with but also having to watch the rest of the football world mocking us once again. Personal and local pride is massively at stake here.
  22. It's what happened last summer with BZG that is making people so twitchy and unconvinced that this is a done deal. And who can blame them? This situation is almost identical to that one last year, where we are relying on our "facts" from the press. Last year neither NUFC nor the buyer made a single official comment on the deal and the same is happening here. Yeah sure, there seems to have been a deposit made by the buyer but that still doesnt mean the deal wont collapse. On another note, I'd be absolutely staggered if the buyers have agreed to a period of exclusivity that could allow the PL to scupper the deal simply by taking too long to complete the tests. That just doesnt seem possible IMO.
  23. Well the Mackem ITKs on RTG are saying the deal is off ....this post actually from a Mag who frequently kisses their arse... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/march-to-may-2020-newcastle-ufc.1507830/post-31609679
