We were fantastic until about late April. I don't know why this keeps being said. We were concerned that we'd drop off, and we didn't.
-
if he does it a third time, then we could begin to argue that it's ceiling. We just don't have enough data points yet imo. And it's not like 23-24 was an unmitigated disaster. We missed out on Europe with 60 points because of a really flukey Man United win.
-
that's what they call me
-
just do your job.
-
and we'll win 2-1.
-
just admit it, you really let the forum down, man. Shame on you.
-
In this context, on the fence would normally suggest that you are not sure whether he should be sacked or not.
-
that's where I'm at. Happy with him, but there are areas where I'd like to see him improve. I suppose I'm more accurately in between the top 2. Eddie is the man, but I have some gripes.
-
on the fence should be below it i suppose

you are still ignoring what Ben said overall just to nitpick. It seems clear to be bad faith at this point. But with regard to Muembo, it was widely reported that we wanted him, but he snubbed us early on.
-
He's just going to constantly change the goalposts. Classic example of a bad faith debater.
-
you are arguing in bad faith at this point by changing the goalposts. Ben never claimed he wasnt'. He was referring to others who we missed.
-
FFS man. Yes, we wanted him. But it appears we wanted Mbuemo more this summer according to most journalists.
-
apart from early reports in the summer
-
I am pretty sure that he wasn't our first choice at the start of the summer. That is obviously what Ben was referring to.
-
I doubt Elanga would have come here if we could get Mbuemo.

Absolutely. There are a number of things I wish Howe would do differently. Like many on here, I'd like more flexible game management. I've never liked this coaching orthodoxy of subbing only after the 60th minute. I understand the reasoning, but sometimes it's clear that a change is needed earlier. As I've said before, Steve Kerr has made some really strange decisions over the years, but where would the Warriors be without him? He was clearly a massive step above Mark Jackson and took them to the dynasty level. I feel the similar about Howe. Obviously no dynasty, but we doing well in a different weight class. To be pedantic, it's not cultish behavior on either side. I'm just irritated with how constantly negative some people are. It's way more than just being critical. It's a constant barrage of negativity from some. I have 50 year old high school buddies who are like that, and it is often tiresome and seemingly more for the sake of being negative. And it is often accompanied by self-victimization like "I was piled on when...". And after witnessing the aftermath of what horrors people went through in actual places of oppression, it irritates me when people think that they're being canceled on a forum. It's Bill Maher complaining that he was snubbed for the Golden Globe because of Hollywood cancel culture, right after Ricky Gervais, the anti-cancel-culture prophet himself, won it. On the positive side of being critical, rocafella had a post yesterday on where we should realistically be that I think was right on the mark. He's been critical, but they've been fair critiques. TCD has also been reasonably critical without being negative for the sake of it. In fact, a fair few have. Arguing is great. Wanting Howe out is fine. But FFS, there is no need to moan about your own horrors faced in this forum labor camp.

who is that type of club who gets a player in September and sells them in January? WTF, man?

Integrity alone is an act of defiance against this ecosystem
-
And it’s an ecosystem that blends into the Trumpian umbrella. One of the few things keeping me interested, besides habit, is the likability if our players and staff.
-
He’s certainly earned the chance to salvage this season in my eyes
-
Not for me. And yeah you’re right. We are owned by a group that is propped by a murderous regime. And it is part of the reason that I am falling out of love with football. It’s very difficult to hold that cognitive dissonance, and would have been way easier to shed if we didn’t have the grim Ashley years. But You also have a number of American owners who support the genocide in Gaza. And snake oil salesmen heading UEFA and FIFA. Football is just another facet of the worst aspects of human civilization at this point. We can’t escape it.

The state of our world is horrendous. I’d like to teach my nephews that winning while being a cunt is not winning at all. Because you’re still a horrible cunt and no trophy case can change that.
-
Glad my memory is still sharp. But I know that you aren’t the only one who has said that.
-
I have seen a fair few say that they’d be happy with a cunt who wins things. Brownbottle for one? Sorry, if I am misremembering..
