  1. In a fit of what I can only assume is madness, one or two actually suggested Mourinho last January.
  2. His overall points total despite being given an absolute disaster of a team when he first came in strongly suggests that he has elevated to a different class.
  3. If the doubts were just beginning, then fine. But they’ve been there for every less than perfect spell since he has been there. Despite that atrocious spell last year, he did turn it around in the end, yet people make it sound as if we limped tamely across the finish line.
  4. One thing that I’ve noticed since Howe has been here is that we never have gotten off to a particularly strong start in the season. Good points haul to start this season, but it easily could be 4 points instead of 10. we had a similar debate last year after the first five games, except that the results were far worse (tougher start and all). in 2022, we didn’t lose but we really struggled to win in our first 10 games. We were fairly solid but not great except for a few games (man city home). A fair few complained regularly during that stretch. in 2021, 1 win in his first 10 tells the story (even though he came in pretty hamstrung). Wouldn’t it be fair to keep the knives sheathed until we hit the quarter mark? If we go on a solid run for the next 5 games (difficult), then we have a brilliant platform for the next 3 quarters.
  5. Every 8 seconds according to the myth about goldfish.
  6. All I can say is that a few on here appear to have suffered from severe recency bias for awhile. Treating all of last season as a monolith is wildly inaccurate. We had very low lows, suffered in away form until the last part of the season, but scored boatloads in others. Treating 10 abysmal games, and maybe 8 fairly disjointed ones as the whole of the season is just not a good indicator of last season at all, especially considering that we had a stretch where we just couldn’t lose, and then finished pretty well over the final quarter of the season.
  7. We were not so disjointed for the last 10 games of last season. We were disjointed for 4 of the first 5, absolutely abysmal for about another 10 games after that long unbeaten run, somewhat disjointed for another few games, and then finished relatively strong performance and results wise.
  8. It’s just as telling about some of the fan base though.
  9. If andycap is your echo chamber…
  10. Real Madrid fans know how to win…by following a team that wins all the time.
  11. I say this as a Warriors fan who knows all about winning. This is a spectacularly idiotic statement that rises well above most of the recent idiotic statements on this forum, and a pretty solid example for hoping AI causes our extinction. We support teams that have won. We had nothing to do with them winning. I really hope you are a WUM.
  12. Jesus, you are running through the gamut of self victimization tropes. You are in good company.
  13. As every bit as lame as "I tell it how it is..." No better signal that the rest probably isn't worth reading.
  14. The case I''ve been working on is chock full of widely reported rumors that have absolutely nothing to do with reality and truth. This happens so regularly that the "no smoke without fire" or "you can't make it up" tropes are often absolute piles of horse shit.
  15. Mike can only investigate online as he's not allowed within 100 meters of their stadium or training facility. He also has to register with the Bern authorities.
  16. you do quite a bit, which skewers your own statement.
  17. I find it baffling that you would choose to post the David Hasselhoff version.
  18. You got my vote by mentioning Steph.
  19. We've conceded three goals and not allowed that many shots on target. Defensively we are doing enough to certainly have complaints if we were at the bottom of the table.
  20. We absolutely did not play better for the most partin the 5th season. Cisse's goal against Chelsea was about as indicative of our season as you can get.
  21. Off to a great start and not losing the ugly games we were easily losing last season so far. Much more to be positive about despite us being stuck in 2nd gear. Not looking good but hell to play against. Good sign.
  22. The Craig Hope story looks a lot like the editor forcing a sensationalist title on what was a much less sensationalist story. I dealt with similar.
