or this is a blip in his otherwise upward trajctory. We aren't even through with this season. Just not enough data points to say he's found his ceiling...especially after giving us our best season in recent memory. And 23/24 wasn't nearly as bad as people say. 60 points would likely get us comfortably into Europe this season. We've got 14 games to get 27 points, and Howe usually has finished the final third relatively strong.

Manchester City 3-1 Newcastle United [LCSF 2nd Leg] (04/02/26)

They at least showed some fight in the second half. If helost the dressing room, I'd doubt we'd see that no matter what gear Man City played at. -
think it matters going into the next game with a bit of confidence.

thikn we've often seen it from Gordon. And Isak did it all the time

because our results have often been dog shit. I can understand the visible frustration

Yeah the Steve Bruce shit goes beyond criticism. Hyperbole of the highest order, and disrespectful considering that this ddue actually won us something and has had us on average in CL form since he came in.
-
To his credit, I think he posted a decent idea. I wouldn't mind seeing a new approach in the second half at this point.

and we tied Leverkusen. Funny game.

you're using an alt-right favorite, you clown.

fuck off with that alt-right horse shit

Kept us afloat while Wilson was out, and played his part in keeping us up, despite not finding the net much. not exactly the best example of a signing gone wrong.

obviously some nazi reference

the other being how our poor form keeps on creeping back further and further in some narratives. end of the season -> after the Cup Final -> all of 2025

Great post. I'm bothered by the 60 minute thing as well, but it's been a coaching trope for ages.

Seriously though, just say this season for the drop off and there is no argument. We were 4th in the form table after the Cup win even with those final two games. Villa were first and 3 points better, and still needed a point to overtake us. But it feels agenda driven to me to try to extend the drop off back as far as possible.

Brighton has often been the norm under Eddy. Losing to Villa is expected even with the fine form we were in. Losing 4-1 sucked though. Everton and to a lesser extent Brighton were poor. But to say that was a drop off misses that apart from Everton, it was a very difficult schedule at the end. We beat Chelsea. And before the last two games, we lost once in 8. Arsenal was absolutely aa expected. So the only two disappointing results in those 6 you mentioned were Brighton and Everton. We finished the season doing just enough to get 5th, taking 19 of the last 30 points. 1.9 pts per game in our last 10. You can arbitrarily pick the last 6, but realistically we weren’t dog shit until Everton.
