Blackpool didn't deserve to win, though, did they? They had something like 3 chances, we had 15.
-
This would be my line-up as well. But I'd rather play Routledge on the right wing. Don't think Routiledge is ready yet.
-
You know as well as I know that Nolan won't be dropped. And if it's not Nolan it should be Jonas because Barton and Routledge are two of our best players.
-
The season is frightening similar to the 08/09 so far btw. One 1-1 draw, one 3-0 defeat, one home win and one home defeat to a side similar to Hull (shit team on paper, but having a surprisingly good start.)
-
After seeing the highlights of that match I'm more optimistic tbh. We've created enough chances for at least 3 goals to beat them. Their second goal was just because we had every man forward. Enrique looked a bit poor for their second, too. Barton, Carroll, Nolan all should have scored, can't believe how they didn't - but those games just happen to every team. Williamson's ball off the post was also very unlucky. Harper made two great stops at the start of the game - I don't think he had a chance today with any of the goals. If we drop Smith and Jonas and bring in Tiote and Ben Arfa, I'm sure we can get a good result against Everton. Don't know if we should start Campbell though.

It wasn't meant to be taken seriously. Ok, then.

Hughton's pre match interviews from Sky/BBC: http://www.skysports.com/video/clips/0,23791,16497_6371429,00.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/8991048.stm (sry, if allready posted)

I honestly don't think he would have tbh. Smith would've played at Old Trafford. This, I think Hughton is believing we need a DM for all games, which isn't the case IMO. That's why Hughton played with 4-4-2 last season, with Guthrie and Nolan (both non-DM's)?

I honestly don't think he would have tbh. Smith would've played at Old Trafford. Yeah, that's why he also started in the match against Rangers. Hughton said that year ago, that in the final pre season game, the team should look "very much like the team that will start in the first match of the league". So, Guthrie would have started against Man Utd imo.
-
Absolutely. Not saying Guthrie is a great player, but he's twice the player Smith is. He's good at set pieces as well. Sadly, he's put himself a bit out of the frame with that injury.
-
If this is a serious thought of you then you're a bit stupid imo.
-
That's a direct consequence of playing him up front on his own. We shouldn't be doing that against the poorer sides in the division, especially at home. This. We did it last season against 10 Leicester players (playing in a negative way) and failed. We should play offensive whenever we are at home against a side that isn't top 6.
-
One game shouldn't change anybody's opinion tbh. Still wouldn't take it.
-
We had 13 shots on target, it's hardly Hughton to blame for not scoring.
-
Yes, that's why Hughton is playing him as a striker.
-
And what did we do last season then?
-
The negatives: We've lost, of course. The positives: Smith will probably has played his last game from the start for now.
-
Fuck off, there goes the great home record.
-
5 + added time. ONLY?? FFS! Why are you surprised, look at your watch, the match started 15:00, do the maths.
-
Smith off, Loven on Edit: replied to the wrong post.
-
Fuck off now, let's not lose our home record because of shit Blackpool!!
-
Aye, Jonas should be off. And HBA should be on.
-
I guess he won't do anything countable today.
