Don't know if that was posted before, but Carroll withdraws from the U21 squad: http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20100831/carroll-out-of-under-21-games_2240137_2140695 Hope his injury won't be long term. Edit: Damn, a few seconds.

Good for him. We don't need him (this season) with the players we've got now.
-
Hughton? He can do everything. But it's all very much speculation.
-
We have Ben Arfa and Tiote And Shola Ameobi and Leon Best. but most importantly, we have Hughton.
-
Surely Fergie did wait till it was confirmed that we got HBA. Cleverly might have been his replacement.
-
... and the play with what kind of position? A 1-9-1? Seriously, we don't need another midfielder.
-
Taverniere has done it before in pre-season iirc.
-
No. It's an "old" picture. (Taken after Sol signed)
-
I'd have Williamson over Edgar every day. Still, I've always rated Edgar since "that" goal against ManU. He probably would have improved under the great Hugh.

Campbell will play for the reserves. Still no Guthrie, though. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20100831/sol-to-make-toon-bow_2240137_2140415

Keane to Ipswich
-
Getting rid of players like Geremi, Martins (for good money, and he was never that good), Duff, Owen, Butt and some young players who weren't able to make it into the first team. Good business.
-
I'm impressed by our outgoing transfers as well.
-
I'd certainly support that as long as it's Smith who's making way and not Barton.
-
Guthrie will never start a game if Nolan, Smith, Barton and Tiote are fit imo.
-
Oh, I guess he does that on more than just deadling day. The difference only is, that today they made a story out of it.
-
Doubt that Guthrie will have a great chance of playing this season after missing the start of the season. His problem was to be injured for the Man Utd game. He played with Barton against Rangers and I think he also would have played against Man U and then Villa and Wolves. Now he seems a bit out of the side to me. Gosling won't be fit for a long, long time this season. And if he eventually will be fit, it will be the same case like it was with Barton last season - playing him in some games, giving him some minutes here and there, giving him some reserve matches. But in general I agree, all of the players you named to be fit at the same time won't be allways the case.
-
What "different" did he do?
-
Ok, cheers. Was hoping he'd go to Schalke as that would really make them title contenders in the Bundesliga.
-
Hughton will know how to do it. He'll keep the likes of Routledge, Jonas and Nolan happy and will also be clever enough to realize that the likes of Barton and Ben Arfa have to start.
-
What about Van der Vaart?
-
Routledge > Jonas. Allthough, none of them both should be dropped. It should be Smith who's getting dropped with Nolan partnering Barton in CM. Nolan cannot play CM anymore. I know, it's still better carrying him through midfield than dropping Jonas (because of workrate and Enrique) or Routledge (pace, assists) or Barton who is our best central midfielder.

Wonder how many of these were pens? 25. The last one only hit the bar, though.

Please not another CM...
