Don't think anyone would be against that. But ASP was suggesting we start him in the PL for 6 games, where he can't be dropped! That's completely insane. The kid has done well at u23 but so do a lot of players, he needs to go on loan to league 1/2 and come up against better, stronger, more experienced defenders people in here def against it yeah read that ASP post in more detail, 5-6 starts regardless seems a bit much

it's hard to reconcile the near universal opinion that joselu is one of the worst strikers any of us have ever seen play for the club and the idea of giving a lad who is scoring for the stiffs a chance at a few sub spots to see if he hits the ground running you'd think people were calling to cancel rondon's loan and just go with him for the rest of the season
-
got crucified for saying this before the blackburn game

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/jan/03/christian-pulisic-transfer-us-soccer-financials i read this because it's nixon but this is just someone writing words here isn't it, it's an article aboute absolutely nothing

i maintain having seen Ki over a few games now that he's far better for the team as whole though shelvey is capable of moments of sheer brilliance there were times the other night he got the ball in our half and hit a snap 40 yard long pass looking for rondon up against 3 defenders...maybe if we had peak drogba or shearer it'd be worth it but it's just not, Ki moves the ball up and the team go with him we're gonna miss him a lot

End product costs decent money. agreed
-
he could have played all last night and never scored nor put in a single dangerous cross, his end product is disgusting

head says still 5 purely because of rafa, heart says we're gone...feels like there's nothing there

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

exactly, because the TV money has rocketed to the point where he doesn't need to gamble that a player might be shite...just loan someone who might be shite and trouser the difference -
at that price massively worth the gamble
-
what's this all about? ashley loves a bit shopping in france mind
-
wonder which wretched club will offer him a contract :/
-
nah, i get it lads, and i didn't say he would or could outscore joselu either i've always thought young players that stand out deserve their chance when they do something outstanding as this kid has, be different if we had attackers banging them in but we don't you think different, that's fine
-
yes i'm aware of chopra & campbell, brayson and so on...i mean he threw longstaff on the other day
-
not at all, but the kid is approaching 20 goals in the stiffs isn't he? our backup strikers can't score for shit...not a massive leap to make tbh happy to trust rafa as always, you'd have just thought he might have been worth a look
-
he'll know more than we ever will but you'd think sorensen has at least deserved a shot at a couple of sub spots tbh, that shit must be dispiriting for a kid to experience

as if that could be kept this quiet man -
peter kenyon together with almiron, carried into the stadium on a gold palanquin carried by alan pardew, john carver, joe kinnear & dennis wise give everyone a lift before the game, eggs provided to chuck at the shithouses

I don't think Ashley has the sort of contacts within the game to even be aware who the Southampton manager is. We didn't end up with Pardew, McClaren and Kinnear by chance. Exactly. Who at the club is digging-up a Hassenhuttl/Silva/Wagner type? It will absolutely be someone like Bruce or Hughes. tim cunting sherwood was on sky talkbolllocks the other day, sent shivers down my spine in fairness, i'll be done by that point anyways
