i mean i'm not misreading this right, he was convicted on absolutely fucking nothing? she was mortal and doesn't remember a single thing so the jury have decided that consent wasn't consent in this case and he therefore 'raped' her? even though she doesn't know what happened herself and might have been right into it at the time....how utterly fucked is that man he's clearly been/is an arsehole and they've both treated the lass like dirt but going to the big house for rape for that? terrifying man, absolutely terrifying, and now he's potentially going to be prevented from doing one thing that many of us would give a body part to do professionally at any level...

Can't get my head around him being convicted like, it's an incredible precedent to set imo. By the way why has no mention been made of the two cunts watching and videoing through the window? You'd have imagined they'd have been able to testify as to her state.

Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition

fifa needs to be torn down and started again from scratch It's never going to happen, and not what is needed really. Get your point though. Sorry how isn't what is needed exactly? What benefit is there in keeping FIFA exactly? It's a very rich and established mechanism - if it was lead in the right way and didn't have the corrupt faces at it's top inner circle it could transform almost overnight for a positive thing for the world of football. I'm not saying I'm against tearing it down and starting again - just seems over kill. There's clearly a number corrupt cunts at the top that need removing from football, at any level, for good. Post that, rules need to come in to limit how long people stay at the top of FIFA and introduce transparency on everything it does to make it all fair again. Corruption is ingrained in the organisation now, you'd literally have to get rid of every single Fifa delegate (or whatever they're called) and start again with new rules as you say. So if you're doing that why not just start from scratch and give people a better organisation? Introducing limited 4 year terms our whatever now is simply going to mean they've got less time to make money and will probably be even greedier. They've become so bad football literally needs to see the back of Fifa imo, it needs a fresh start and I hope the Germans have the balls to make it happen cause the cunts in charge if the English fa won't derail the gravy train. -

Me neither, this is why the reaction from a lot of people (not this thread particularly) has p*ssed me off so much. Well what else can we go on? his word/hers? it's the only quantifiable data. That's the point though, do we really have to react to this at all? He's done his time and now he's free, nobody truly knows if he did actually rape her or not so any decision we make is still shrouded in doubt. That's my point though, at this point the only thing that is certain is he was convicted. That's literally it. I have no idea what went down, but the only thing we know for sure is that he was convicted. i was semi-serious before mind, i reckon he'll get the conviction overturned personally Next to no chance. Fresh evidence would probably be the only chance and he appears to have exhausted the sensible avenues for this at the Court of Appeal when he appealed against sentence and conviction. Court of appeal said the trial went as it should. CCRC won't do much at all unless something Earth shattering comes in. he is taking it to a further appeal of some kind though isn't he? sure i read that CCRC = Criminal Cases Review Commission. Thats who he spoke about in his press release. Far more likely that was just posturing for prospective clubs than any legitimate belief of it going anywhere. I'm pretty sure that the most they can do is refer cases to the Court of Appeal anyway.

This is it for me. I don't see the bloke as a monster whatsoever. Watch this man, she's just full of shit: is she a television presenter? she can hardly talk she's worried about her community man, ched's obviously going to influence the next generation of footballer to rape lasses in hotel rooms having because he presumably thinks it's cool to have lost 3 (?) years of his life, be on the sex offenders register and be a hated figure for the rest of his life...the kids will lap it up
-
Really? that's a fairly big assertion man. I was taking the piss, but it's certainly a possibility. The real answer is: the 'right' thing to do is nothing and he should be allowed to restart his career if any clubs believe it's worth offering him a contract. The alternative is a rejection of the principles of criminal justice system in the country and the idea of rehabilitation, and we'd be left with a situation where internet warriors are deciding the fate of people's lives. Fuck that.
-
I say ban him from the game until such time as he inevitably gets his conviction overturned on appeal, whereupon it'll come out he was convicted on something dodgy. Then all the people jumping on this bandwagon can go back to living their lives like it never happened.

not a fucking chance man poch is done imo. The press seem to love pardew down there he will def be linked and they usually go forrin/London in terms of the hiring strategy he'd have to knock them out of the cup in the quarters, then have us pushing for a CL spot at the very moment the decide to sack poch (which i don't think they'll do personally) even if those stars aligned i think levy is far to astute to think pardew is good enough for them Not sure the levy thing is a fallacy imo. He's not that smart. From twitter: http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/10/352426940bd586459344877cbf2d6d57.jpg regardless of all that i can't see him thinking pardew is good enough, i just can't, no way Thing is if anything we've seen in the last few weeks is that the whole of football rate him the narrative that's been coming out could in the end do us a favour do they fuck man You not been watching?!! Practically every single pundit/ex player/manager/writer has been falling over themselves to say how good pardew is. Honestly. yeah but they don't rate him beyond sticking up for a fellow pro, that's the extent of it and that's where it'll stay unless he propels us into the CL and the FA decide to get fucking silly spurs won't pardew like, i guarantee it, he'll be known throughout the game as a charlatan Not so sure myself like, his whole "Ashley makes it impossible to work" thing will help him out no end levy will stick with poch for a while yet like Not so sure myself, he's pretty trigger happy. Bummed AVB after a good season don't think he can do that again so soon to be honest, he'll be a fucking laughing stock if he's not already
-
Also - he just hasn't played well his season. well i didn't say he had for a start, and lest we forget we went 7 games without a win during the period he was getting chances now there's more attacking players on the pitch and people he can pass and move with he's nowhere near the team

he'll fuck this up, but again the lucky cunt that he is he couldn't hope to face as bad a team as QPR at the moment, never mind burnley to see a real change in the man imo he'd have to drop colback, play abeid & sissoko as a 2 with cabella as an AM and look to dominate the game, there are multiple combinations he could go with mind...cisse up top and perez as an AM for example he doesn't know how though, he'll ride this formation and selection into the ground until there's nothing left but a distant memory of something that might have worked, then he'll play 4-4-2 with gouffran and sissoko on the wings to get back to basics

Release clause. ah that'd do it

can we honestly say we've missed debuchy one bit since this lad turned up? -
was there a specific reason he only cost 1.5m?
