  1. in fairness, if he was at a club that had a more fickle fan base he'd have been long gone because there would be virtually no fans left...he's doing alright now aye but the first few years under MA and DL were an utter disgrace, at a lot of other clubs the fans would have walked many times over
  2. dunno, can't say that it's bollocks when so much in football finance depends on wages these days
  3. found this interesting: Llambias revealed that the five players they signed in January cost £31m but it was all within tight guidelines. “We’ve maintained a very good standard on the pitch working within our financial model and our transfer policy,” he said. “The new signings all stayed within our model. January for us was fantastic business but we had already done two of those deals [Yoan Gouffran and Sissoko] as pre-contract deals for the summer. The injuries and the position we were in the league [near to the relegation zone] meant we brought those deals forward. Was that good business for me? No. But for the club it was still fantastic business. It cost us an extra £10m in fees and wages but it’s worth it. Our net spend in January was £31m so it’s a huge chunk. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/newcastles-financial-model-leads-to-boast-of-14m-profit-8551904.html

you want them still in business ffs, just being a perpetual yoyo team is the ideal situation...they do the excitement/disappointment/bitterness cycle better than anyone else for them to not exist

speaking to a couple of mackem mates yesterday, they're both now 100% convinced they're down like...personally still don't see it, think they'll scrape a win and a couple of draws along the way
  6. easy out, they can just say they went to any pub at any time and had some crack about strips how did this post convey being upset out of interest?
  7. easy out, they can just say they went to any pub at any time and had some crack about strips
  8. celtic strip is fucking terrible up close same as most of ours are these days, from a distance it'll look fine barca kit was the same (current one), people hated the close ups but it's really fine
  9. yeah, but if they put a case to the FA in the light of the lad having serious injuries then the FA just shitcan it i can see things getting a bit iffy...i also think ashley et al will only likely do anything if they think they have support from other owners/chairmen frankly, how could they not get support?
  10. has a chance to properly blow up when the extent of his injury becomes clear, from llamblias's statement yesterday it also looks like the club aren't that interested in letting it drop easily
  11. not piss on your parade but everywhere else (literally) is the same like
  12. precisely, take the emotion and the childishness (taxfree) out of it and there really should be a legitimate course of action open to the club vs. the fa... to be fair to taxfree et al we should probably have a whipround for a DNA test to see if mcmannaman is related to ted bundy, just in case
  13. You havn't even seen the challenge man, you didn't even know who the f*** Assulin was until the weekend Yeah, because Assulin is such an unknown player I haven't seen the challenge, no, but it's described well enough. "Assulin picked the ball up just inside Wigan's half and Callum McManaman ran from City's half and dived in very late and caught Gai on his right leg with the studs showing". We're not all complete f***ing nerds, mate. And so the challenge is nothing that we haven't seen from our very own players this season? Yeah, he's only a former highly rated Barcelona talent who went on to Manchester City, like. We have seen some poor tackles from some of our own. Just something about him. Seems like your classical wild (enthusiastic if you ask Martinez) player who just cares about being hard. #Twofoot ah you put a hashtag in to add legitimacy? is he not a striker cum winger this mcmanaman? not your common garden thugs i have to concede, maybe a higher class of thug perhaps something about him
  14. so it's not the tackle, it's the reaction that's the problem now? adrenalin would explain that one probably madness people trying to make out he's a sociopath or something
  15. What did he basis his prognosis on? My guess would be video of the tackle along with being a physio bold is key, "may"
  16. You havn't even seen the challenge man, you didn't even know who the f*** Assulin was until the weekend Yeah, because Assulin is such an unknown player I haven't seen the challenge, no, but it's described well enough. "Assulin picked the ball up just inside Wigan's half and Callum McManaman ran from City's half and dived in very late and caught Gai on his right leg with the studs showing". k so you're right, he committed a bad challenge on this guy (wasn't badly injured as far as i know), and now massadio (injury not determined) in the 4 years he's played professional football and that qualifies you to determine him a thug does it?
  17. You havn't even seen the challenge man, you didn't even know who the fuck Assulin was until the weekend cheers hans he's 21/22, just made his premier league debut yet he's a "fucking thug" based on "evidence" he might have played 200 junior and reserve games and never injured anyone man
  18. aw man that's not enough to get me banned is it?
  19. he's 21 years old man Not sure if being funny? Didn't know being a thug and coward had age restrictons. He's 22 in a month. Hardly a kid. k i'll bite, none of you know he's a f***ing thug...he's played virtually no games so i personally have to believe the likes of martinez who say he's "not that type of lad" i also believe pardew when he says cabaye is "not that type of lad" because frankly cabaye has made equally poor challenges and i didn't see the f***er on telly being all contrite about it, let's not mention tiote eh? these are seasoned professionals mind you, not kids he's 21/22 and is just breaking into the premier league, probably doesn't have his media badge yet and may be at home shitting himself crying at sky or he may be in the pub laughing his tits off, but i don't know either way I tend to believe my own eyes more than an over-protecting manager. Like they're not lying enough as it is. His twitter account, Assulin and Haidara tells me he's a grade A c***. Age and "just breaking in to PL" is just poor excuses. He is what he is. At 22 he's liable for his own self. He deserves all the abuse he gets, the horrible little thug. Hope it really gets to him. Edit: I don't think anyone is demanding a press conference in Albert Hall. bit in bold, how many time have you seen him play you fucking gobshite?
  20. is that to me? i'm not on about the tackle, i'm on about the fact he's being criticised for not having a press conference in the albert hall Why? he's a fully grown man. I did plenty of things at that age, took my punishment, fronted it up. he's not ten years old like aye, you went in front of the national media to apologise for the wrong you did then? jesus man, if nothing else his club are telling him to hide away and shut up because no good can come of it however it's good to know the nation is full of such responsible and mature adults at age 21/22 given the judgements thrown around on here, should stand us in good stead as a nation
  21. is that to me? i'm not on about the tackle, i'm on about the fact he's being criticised for not having a press conference in the albert hall
