so what's the crack i missed it, this lad anywhere near ready for the PL then?
-
we just need a favourable draw and we're more than capable of a run in this, when was the last time we got a favourable draw when it counted though?
-
hasn't even played with benny yet either
-
according to wiki 7 goals in 34 appearances this season, say what you like that's simply not good enough...if he doesn't make double figures by the end of the season he's had an absolute howler tbf

think we'd annihilate the them with that setup, if hba started even more so -
i hope they stick with rogers and support him just to see where they go with it, you'd imagine playing like that consistently over 2-3 seasons will end up paying off and they'll end up a very good side on the other hand if he fails to get the results while looking pretty it'll be even better

back 5 anita cabaye sissoko marveaux gouff cisse no jonas pls, obviously works better if hba plays instead of marveaux sissoko given the remit to drift right and overlap when we're attacking, and help out defending on the right when needed due to his work rate... -

we've got to find a way not to play Gutierrez at home like -
are they still playing as much of a pressing game as they did under pep? that was one of the things that made them for me, they had the ball so much but when they didn't they were pressing the opposition so high up the pitch and all over the pitch that they were almost unplayable...teams couldn't break on them being the problem
-
identical i think yeah

nice design, white t-shirt with a blue trim....4 years of design school for that shit probably

there's teething trouble with anything new but it would ensure that teams played to the whistle in a very short space of time in the case of your goalkeeper/defence stopping example, and you may be right that refs would let some more marginal offsides go but that's what the rules say to do now anyway don't they? as regards the interruption to flow you believe are inevitable i can't say myself definitevely and it'd obviously have to be trialled, but for me if the guy on the screens can't make the call in a pre-determined time frame (30 secs as an example) then the original decision stands, it'd be as simple as that...the point of technology would be to enhance the decision making process but it'll never be omnipotent, if a decision can't be made it can't be made everything can be mitigated with enough planning and testing
-
have you thought this through? think about when you'd be asking the ref to review an offside........................................it'd only be in the event that the striker goes through and scores in a marginal situation, if the ref gives offside you're not going to have someone sitting and overturning that ffs as in the cisse case you've mentioned above so basically as i've said earlier in this scenario the ball is in the back of the net, the players are complaining and moaning to the ref and then the game has to restart from the centre circle, 30 seconds easy for a guy in the stands to review the footage and if the person was offside overrule it and send it back for a goal kick how does that impact or disrupt the flow of anything? same for a penalty a ref doesn't give, in most cases the complaining and restarting will buy enough time for the guy in the stands to sit and say "aye penalty" things need introducing to ensure game-changing decisions that cost clubs money and chances of success are as close to correct as can be
-
No the reason to not use replays is that it would likely break up the game too often. This doesn't, so your 'all or nothing' argument doesn't stack up. how so? in pretty much every contentious decision in a game such as a disallowed goal for offside, a dodgy foul that may or may not be a red card, or a goal-line question there's inevitably a period of arguing (plus the ball will have gone out of play or whatever) that lasts 30 seconds anyways...plenty of time for a video tech to wind it back and let the 4th ref decide imo
-
i agree with ian, should be all or nothing really only proviso i'd ensure was not implemented in football was an appeal like they have in tennis, or anything of that nature...should just be an official or two sat with some video experts who can overrule a decision based on clear video evidence mind you, implementing something like that below the top levels of the game would be impossible
-
who thought that expression was a good idea for advertising anything?

this needs to go in the ace posts thread

probably decent enough call too, if we're struggling he'll provide the lift, if we're winning he'll be able to have a run out with no pressure we're in a position where we really don't need to risk him from the start for once
-
French Day seems like something they should do at an open training day perhaps, not a fucking premier league game
-
You have to remember that Obertan was a Pardew buy though and AP wanted to prove something. Nothing usual in that, lots of managers try and prove a point about signings that aren't really working out. Guess it's possible. i don't think it's this at all, pardew had a clearly defined gameplan based on us being solid and nicking goals from the off last season - imo he'll have thought HBA was a defensive liability and would therefore have been reluctant to play him no doubt in my mind tbh, HBA forced his hand in the mackems game
-
if it's a one-off then maybe aye, but if they start with shite like that every week we'll be a laughing stock
-
oh fuck, we're becoming middlesborough or something...what next, "i feel good" when goals are scored and giant foam hands on seats?
