Barcelona win Champions League Final 10/11

How in the wold you blame Mourinho (or Madrid) when Dani Alves held his shin (as if it was broken in two) when there was no contact from Pepe or when Busquet held his face when the contact was on his shoulder I will never understand. Leap of logic if there ever was one. Sure Mourinho's plays aggressive football against Barcelona and that may contribute to ugly football. You can even argue that the aggressive tactics result in a few diving here and there (for both sides). But there is absolutely no connection between the tactics employed by Mourinho and what Barcelona did on that shameful night i.e. play acting, feigning injury and crowding the referee to get a player sent off. Now I agree that Barcelona can play beautiful clean football (and perhaps they do most of the times) which only begs the question why Barcelona chose to do what they did against Madrid. Could it be because they were finding it difficult to play their usual game and penetrate Madrid's defence when it was 11 vs 11? I don't know. But to blame Mourinho (Madrid) for Barcelona's play acting is ridiculous. and yet by your own acknowledgement they don't behave that way in 99% of their games, in fact i've not heard anyone say they've ever done it before that night iirc it was the 3rd of 4 games right? as i understand it in winning the final madrid stifled the game to death and played a hard, defensive tie is it beyond belief that guardiola might have sent them out for the first leg of the semi, knowing what would come from real, to use this as a tactic to counter they way madrid should play and people like alves took it too far? is it ok for the likes of de jong to snap HBA's leg in two, for example, as tactical means to an end (hit him hard, let him know he's not gonna play easy) that goes too far? you seem far too eager to elevate what is by all accounts a one off occurrence on barca's behalf into suggesting they're the incarnation of the devil or something in 60 minutes of that tie real did not score nor dominate barca and then a man was sent off and it changed the game, some people argue that even without contact it was a sending off (de jong won the ball against HBA you know?) in short you're obsessed by one game of over the top simulation and yes cheating, and it's embarrassing tbh -

it was clearly something they went overboard on during that war of attrition with Mourinho, wouldn't expect to ever see it again myself unless he starts up again and the whole carry on is repeated not saying it's right either mind -

well they've made 3 bids concurrently of about 20m euros right, maybe a little more than that? unless they plan to cancel one if another is accepted and the deal done then we have to assume that's their minimum/maximum spend if they spend 20m+ on 3 signings this summer, irrespective of any outgoings, i'll be fucking dumbfounded
-
i think it's gonna be somewhere in the middle, we'll get one very good attacking signing like Gervinho or Gameiro and then mediocrity to fill out the ranks but hey, so far they seem willing to spend something like 20m+ if the bids are anything to go by so who fucking knows? i'd imagine that's it though huh? 5m for Cabaye and then 10m each for the other two (rough figures) and i think that'll be the end of our spending personally unless we sell the likes of Enrique and then have to replace him hopefully we can get these dudes and then fill out the squad with an astute loan or two couldn't really complain about that tbh

i'm starting to get optimistic, don't like this one little bit as have become so used to being let down by MA key for me will be what happens if we don't get our primary targets? at the moment forward-wise they've opted to move for players who are well known and potentially in demand, if they knock us back the next level of target will be crucial hopefully they all just sign though

is this right? i didn't see the game but don't remember everyone going as apeshit as when mourinho lost the plot did they cheat their way past arsenal? my interpretation is they probably used feigning injury as a tactic against mourinho's stifle and kill the game tactics not really sure anyone can say in general terms it's a dominant feature of their play, they're usually more concerned with playing football -

In this match, the referees haven't assisted them (if anything Man U should have had a man booked in the first 30 minutes) and they haven't dived or cheated very often. Why would anyone concentrate on anything but their good performance? they shouldn't, that's what i'm saying -

and more importantly why didn't guardiola just switch to plan b, get someone sent of and change the game? it's as simple as that surely... -

err because Man Utd tried to play attacking football (with two strikers) which worked perfectly for Barcelona. The diving and cheating to get opponent sent off is Barcelona's Plan B, they only use it when they can't get past a flooded midfield. Right oh. Yup laugh all you want, the facts speak for themselves. Against Madrid, barring the 5-0 when Madrid did try to foolishly go all out attack, Barcelona has only beaten Madrid when they got a player sent off and the goals came after the sending off. so are you now saying this plan b is only enacted against real madrid then, or is it a generic plan b to be used whenever things don't go their way? -

this sounds more like our sort of deal tbh, exploiting release clauses and such then we can say we signed a 10m midfielder when only paying 4m for him mike ashley ftw! not complaining like, probably a great idea/signing for all i know -

Incorrect. Ronaldo? Incorrect? You ain't from around here is you boy? -
suppose if you get as far as talks with the likes of this lad (and gameiro) best way to sell it is surely to give them a release fee that's an increase in value but not prohibitive? right sign for us, play out of your skin for a season or two and get the attention of CL clubs and you'll get your move - release fee is set 22m having good players for a season or two is surely better than having mediocre ones for four and if they like it so much, they stay, or we get into europe ourselves

so alves, busquets & pedro playacting is what prevented madrid from creating and scoring goals over 180 minutes of football is it? f*** off man there's another way to look at it for me, madrid approached the game in a very attritional manner right? dig in, defend deep and defend hard...it'd be interesting to see what the actual foul count for madrid was that night (or indeed in any of the big CL games vs barca recently) because fouling people is also against the rules you know? stopping a superior team by kicking and blocking them is no better than diving or feigning s*** in my opinion, just different ways of doing the same thing except for some reason you're on your high horse about one not the other Silly man, Alves play acting reduced Madrid to 10 men and turned the game from a tight game of 0-0 to a game which Barcelona hugely exploited and won 2-0. If you can't even understand that point, then never mind at what point was the sending off again?
