    Next Manager

Even if this is only just another "New Manager- lolwtfbbq?" thread among the many. I have to say I do support the idea of a foreign manager rather than Big Sam. My favourite would have been Trond Sollied, as he practically never changes his view on playing attacking football. And I would love an attacking Newcastle side rather than a Newcastle focusing on long passes, hoping that the ball ends with a player in black and white. Though I can't really think of any other manager being appointed than Big Sam after all this media focus on him.
  2. I'm dissapointed, I don't think he's a bad manager mind. But I just think we could have gotten someone better. I still think Trond Sollied would have been the man for the job, would have loved to see what he could do with Newcastle.
  3. http://gfx.dagbladet.no/pub/artikkel/4/44/443/443118/trsoll.jpg Couldn't have said it better myself. Though I can't honestly say I'd be anything else than shocked if it doesn't end up being Big Sam as our new manager. Personally I don't really think that much about any of the options.
  4. I visited Newcastle last year, but that was to visit some friends of mine, and it was unfortunately during the summer so I didn't get a chance to attend a game. But yeah, I've never really noticed that Newcastle was a greatly supported team in Norway. Though, I do come from a rather small town so the variation of football fans probably isn't too great. Good to see that there's loads of us scandinavians supporting the team, I've always felt kinda left alone since I didn't really know about anyone else in my town, or country, supporting the team. But then came ze Internet, and here I am now Makes me feel warm inside.
  5. lol was going to be my reply but you finished reading it first As for Daniel Braaten, aye he looks fast direct and very handy but youtube is up there with FM to be honest. Used to be class on FM on the one before he moved to Rosenborg. Always was my first buy. Daniel Braaten isnt even a starter i Rosenborg. He only play 15 min, the rest he goes around watching the rest playing footy. The game against Real Madrid, was the best game of his career. What was the rosenborg excuse for him, he was using so much strength when he runned, that he got to much or to little oxygen in his legs. Thats why he didnt work so much For Per Cilijan Skjelbreid, he was a good player before his injury. But it seems like it has scared the living shit out of him. I would rather we bought his mate, dunno his name. But i bet u know, as it seems that u are a RBK fan. If I was to choose someone to come here from the Norwegian Tipperlia, it would be on of these; Koren, Mifsund, Hæstad, Strømstad , Grindheim or Bjørn Helge Riise. "I would rather we bought his mate, dunno his name." Michael Kleppe Jamtfall? And as for the other names, I agree in all but Bjørn Helge Riise. He's already been trying his luck outside the Norwegian borders. And returned to Norway rather a failure. He's impressed in Lillestrøm though, and he could prolly live long on being John Arne Riise's brother. Hæstad and Strømstad haven't been as impressive this season as last though, but could probably make a fearsome midfield duo on any team. As seen in Norwegian International games versus rather greater opponents. Koren and Mifsund, yeah. Good players, but them as well I wouldn't think would fit in with the English game. Grindheim on the other hand, though he too not being as impressive this season as the last. He would probably manage to adjust to the Premier League in a matter of weeks, if not days. As for Skjelbred. Yeah, he's been down after his injury. But that's what happens to most players I presume. I do belive though, that he will still become a great player, over time. If he gets the right guidance and training that is. Ah well, that ends my rant this time about the Norwegian players =P
  6. I'd throw in Per Ciljan Skjelbred in the mix of talents in the Norwegian Tippeliga. That kid got a great future.
  7. Owen. Was between him and Parker but Owens rather great history made me choose him above Parker. Though I have my doubts about Owen ever coming back as people knew him before his injury.
  8. xD I dug my own topic's grave with that one, didn't I? Naturally I ment 'a player that would not be a big name signing' =P
  9. What "unkown" player would I like to see in black and white? I was asking myself that question the other day, tired from all the "which big name should we buy" discussions as I was. Why waste too much money on big name signings when we could get some non-expensive talents and possibly create even bigger stars than the ones we could buy for unmentionable amounts of pounds? What about all the "undiscovered" non-expensive-to-buy talents out there? So I decided to actually make a discussion thread about just that. What "unknown" footballer would you be pleased to see sign for the club? I myself have long been convinced that a footballer for the Norwegian side Rosenborg could do great for us, I've witnessed his skills with the ball first hand as I've attended a few of Rosenborgs games. Including one against Real Madrid, in which Daniel Braaten made a great effort and single-handed almost defeated the opposition. I've added two "mixed" vids of him in action. And by playing with footballers as Roberto Carlos I'd say he's already proven that he could deal with a level of intencity like the one in the premiership. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGbDXIdasrc Though, I wouldn't want to be the only one going on about unkown talents. So I repeat my previous question: What unkown footballer do you think would do great? Feel free to state your opinion and discuss about players mentioned, if anyone have heard or seen enough of them to make up an opinon about them that is =P
