It's amazing how protected refs are. There was a clear reason to point out a possible conflict of interests, and he barely said anything. I would've gone way further than he did. It's no wonder he gives boring post-match interviews and basically says the same thing every time.
I can understand if a player assumed it wasn't against the rules to bet on games unconnected to him, but You have to be really really dumb to bet on your own teams games. Fuck him.
I have a random memory of Rafa from the 2007 CL final, Liverpool were 2-0 with a few minutes left so he took off Steve Finnan and brought on Arbeloa. I held it against him for ages when arguing with a Liverpool fan I knew. He seems to like that late RB sub for some reason.
He's definitely on a the sauce again. Reminds me of when I was a kid playing tennis and the coach would come out of the clubhouse smelling of wine to take the lesson.
I can't say if it really had any effect, but I can see his point, someone tried to murder them yesterday on the way to work, and today they're expected to turn up and play a big game. They got dealt a dirty shit covered hand.
Some say they're waiting for a good run of form to do it. At this rate he's just going to turn up in the dugout next season without anything being announced.
