  3. I agree with this mind. Playing for Liverpool seemed to work fine for Torres, Alonso and Arbeloa (Arbeloa was uncapped before moving to Liverpool and Alonso had only played a few games). Obvious that he'll have a lot bigger chance of breaking into the Spanish team playing for Liverpool and I don´t blame him at all for leaving. We sold our best player in january and haven´t replaced him with anyone, sold our captain, are GIVING Barton away and got complete muppets in charge with zero ambition for progress.
  4. As shit as this summer has been in terms of transfer I somehow couldn´t be more excited for tomorrow, football is back! Howay the lads! TOON TOON 1-0 Tioté (flying header) '94
  5. Annoyed, we´ve known all summer that he'll leave and when we finally sell him it´s 2 days before our first match with no replacement in sight and Ferguson injured. If we held out for that long we should have at least got a better deal for him. But then again, Clichy was in the same situation and he only left for 7m so maybe 6m is fair.
  6. He is absolutely shit, a latino Shola. No coincidence that Dortmund became a world class team the minute he left (he averaged a goal every 7 league games for them), the most wasteful striker I´ve ever seen. edit: fixed the goal/game ratio
  7. Germany returned me about 150€. France fucked up my other bet, though. Would have been another 90€. Unfortunate that, I learned a long long time ago to never trust the French. Will never bet on France or Nottingham forest again, they fuck me up every time.
  8. BBC commentator (can't remember which) during WC "How many of the German team would get in the England side, 1 maybe 2, how are they so good?!" Then there are some people that think Wilshere is better than Götze. Wilshere doesn´t hold a candle to Super Mario.
  9. You´ve been Kagawaed http://resources0.news.com.au/images/2010/12/22/1225974/917840-shinji-kagawa-japan-.jpg
  10. So if Crouch goes, will Spurs also be looking to ship out any of your other forwards KD? Yes mate. Keane will be gone and 1 or maybe 2 of Defoe, Crouch and Pav imo. Do wonder where Keane will end up, he says he doesn't want to drop down to champ but can't see what prem team would have him He just confirmed in an interview that he won't be playing for us this season so it sounds like he's agreed a deal with another club. You seem to have a lot all of your strikers heading out. What strikers have you been linked with to replace those?
  11. Ireneusz Jeleń Still available as a free agent. Free, check Injury prone, check Would be on relatively low wages, check His last club was based in French, check Seems to tick all of the Mike Ashley transfer plan boxes.
  12. Subotic would be class for us, what I've seen of him, I thought I read he wanted to stay though? He'll probably stay but he has been linked with various top clubs for so long that you feel it´s only a matter of time, was surprised he didn´t go last summer to be honest. In addition they have a very adequate replacement in Santana (who is a very underrated defender in my opinion). Dortmund have got great depth as shown last year when they had to do without Kagawa and Barrios for a crucial period of games in the title race. They´d survive without Subotic, Götze on the other hand is irreplaceable.
  13. Latest Götze quotes: ''Everything works here,'' he said in an interview with the Bild newspaper. ''We have a very good coach (Jurgen Klopp), a team with sensational prospects and we all understand each other. ''Also I have my family, what more could I want? I know some players who have played abroad. It was not always easy for them. For me that would definitely be too early.' I´d bet anything on him staying at Dortmund this season. The only player I could possibly see going out is Subotic, others will stay.
  14. They sold Sahin mind. He had a release clause so their hands were tied. Götze definitely won´t go this season and when he finally does decide to move he won´t be sold for anything less than 30-40m. Would be stupid to leave Dortmund at this point anyway, just look at all the players that have played under Jürgen Klopp at Dortmund and the progress they´ve made. It´s absolutely astounding how Klopp and his staff at Dortmund managed to squeeze every bit of potential out of their players. They signed Kagawa for 300k and look at him now, they´d be able to sell him within 5 minutes for ~15m. This doesn´t only apply about young players either, Łukasz Piszczek was picked up as a free agent from Hertha Berlin where he played as a winger then Klopp converted him into a full back where he absolutely flourished and was the best full back in the Bundesliga last season. I doubt there is any club in the world better suited for young players to receive training and develop and it will be very interesting to see how far Dortmund can go with this young squad, looking forward to see how they do in the champ league.
  15. http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/videos/18342/football-video-gamba-osaka-take-on-100-japanese-schoolchildren.html Still not as good as this one. edit: ah...videos been deleted. Can still find them on the tube by searching, funny as hell.
  16. Off a WH board "Nolan needs to get match fit fast" "Nolan - no where near match fit proven by his inability to get up and down the park and support Piq." "The game seemed to pass Nolan by, and as we were warned he does look like he will go missing in some matches." "Nolan didnt tear up trees or anything spectacular either...he was slow and innefectual in the role" "Well ive seen a broken down bus turn quicker than Nolan." "Nolan miss was absolutely shocking." Enjoy having him earning 50k/week for the next 5 years.
  17. 15 goals in 32 games isn´t that bad of a strike rate, even for the Dutch division, but 9 out of those game against the 3 bottom sides (which are atrocious football teams). He has made good progress over the past 12-24 months but still has a lot to do before he can move to bigger things. Sigþórsson was huge talent in his youth, I remember when I was like 7 years old playing on the Shell-Tournament (a huge tournament for 6-7 year old kids in Iceland where pretty much all of the clubs in country send teams). I was in my senior year and proudly captained the B-team to the semi finals where we were knocked out under some absolutely scandalous circumstances. Anyway, Sigþórsson despite only being 5 years old and normally not being eligible for the tournament was allowed to play and was by faaaaaar the best player there. The youngest kid out there and still managed to finish as the tournament´s top scorer for the A-team. Unfortunately he has been very unlucky with injuries during his career and has just recently managed to puzzle himself together to full fitness. Promising player but still not premier league material.
  18. Signed for Ajax, no better than what we have anyway.
  19. Yeah, was just thinking that yesterday. The only Hamburg player that showed any intent of actually trying to win the game. Highly impressive debut game after his move from Chelsea earlier this summer, definitely one to keep an eye out for the future. There is a lot of talent in the Bundesliga, not just Dortmund. Have Chelsea given any of their youngsters a chance in recent years? For every Sturridge or McEachran that comes up they just sign a Torres or a Modric. Guess they'll have to put some faith in the younger players sooner than later with the stricter financial rules coming into play.
  20. Keeps amazing me how young the squad is and how little money Dortmund spent assembling it. Barrios(26) Großkreutz(23) Kagawa(22) Götze(19) Bender(22) Gündoğan(20) Schmelzer(23) Subotic(22) Hummels(22) Piszczek(26) Weidenfeller(30) Subs: Lewandowski(22) Kuba(25) Kehl(31) Santana(25) Perišić(22) Leitner(18) Da Silva(33) Langerak(22)
  21. Kun Tévez Silva Sneijder Touré De Jong Jesus fucking Christ. There's still not much of a balance to that team though. I'd rather not sign Sneijder, and play Silva in that position. Or -------------Aguero-------------- ----Nasri-----------------Silva--- --------------Sneijder----------- ---------Toure---de Jong---------
  22. Yea, thought he had an excellent game overall. His link-up play was flawless tonight http://www.goal.com/en/match/60608/borussia-dortmund-vs-hamburg/player-ratings Pretty much agree with all of those.
  23. Would much rather have preferred a loan deal. He was signed 2 years ago and has shown absolutely nothing to indicate that he has what it takes to perform in the Premier League, still we are signing him for the same price as Man U bought him and handing him a 5 year contract as well. If he´s brought in as squad player = content If he´s brought in as a starting player = very underwhelmed and disappointed Doesn´t seem like much of a goal scorer judging by the statistic. Marveux and Arfa are quite injury prone so we'll probably end up pairing Jonas and Obertan on the wings in quite a few games, neither of them is a goal scorer and without Nolan we'll be relying enormously on our strikers to deliver. Not feeling too confident about this, nice to have a body in but if Obertan is one of these "one or two" players that Pardew was saying we needed to bring in then I'm really worried about the upcoming season.
