The importance on strong fullbacks in the modern game is vital, just look at the top clubs, they all are very strong in these areas. A fair amount of goals and chances are created by fullbacks, granted you need someone to finish those chances but getting the fullbacks sorted first is a good choice.

Is it realistic to accept that a lot of players will turn us down with the prospect we may get relegated?

What calibre of player do you think they’ll be looking at with the high possibility we’ll be playing championship football next season? Also which players might transfer away end of season if we go down?

Even with new additions it’ll take time the gel which unfortunately will be too late. Agree we need to be signing players who’ll do a job and be content playing in the championship.

It’s not just that he has other options it’s the fact when it’s written on paper in front of our eyes you realise just how bad a crop of players we have available.

I guess looking at our upcoming fixtures it could quite possible be much more than 6 beginning next year, maybe that’s been factored in?

I very much doubt this team have two wins on a bounce in them on current form. 15 points at a minimum is needed before the new year. 9 points from next 8.

Previous history would see that home advantage in playoff / vital games hasn’t served us that well, see Romania in 1993, Russia in 2004 and Ireland in 2018. You can also factor in that we rarely play well in back to back games due to our players lack of fitness. All being said it’s probably the more favourable draw out of the lot ?

Does Howe tend to stick to British based players or was that due to transfer limitations at Bournemouth?

Might have been answered previously, is Howe bringing his own coaching team with him?

Has Howe gone on record saying he likes to have decent fullbacks? I think those will be the first areas you’ll see him strengthen in January.

I for one is quite excited by the prospect of Howe becoming manager, hopefully he adds some enthusiasm amongst the players similar to how Keegan and even Houghton brought to the club. He speaks really well too and seems to have some character about him unlike many of the dinosaurs we’ve had in the last 14 years. Really hoping this goes well.
