At a high level there should be an equal spent cap for all clubs, and one that rolls over if you don’t spend it all in a season. The risk is that a team like Hull may get a cap way out of their budget and go into debt, so with that I can’t see it working out.

Exactly this, we should be blowing these clubs away in the transfer market, just like the cartel clubs do to us.

I’m not so sure, Wissa was more like for like whereas Woltemade was an unknown quantity and completely different player to Isak. I think people go by transfer fee alone.

I personally don’t think it was exclusively because of those two things. Woltemade just does not fit in how Howe likes to set up, and was clearly not happy with him up top. Wissa was Isak’s replacement and I argued this last summer and he’s failed miserably. Rather us try redeem some funds this summer and go get another pacy forward, clearly selling Woltemade is more realistic than Wissa for a number of reasons.

Reluctantly I think we should sell Woltemade after the World Cup. There’s no world Howe uses him as a striker, I’m not even sure he’s suited to the premier league.
