  1. It doesn't matter if Debuchy plays behind Hatem, with MYM playing at left back we can easily use the cover system, especially with Tiote sitting in front of the defence as well. We need to score goals, Debuchy brings far more to the table in that regard.
  2. Players are pretty much obligated to say stuff throughout the season, yes it's often just soudnbites but how often do people speak transparently in football? If he said nothing then he'd be criticised for that. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
  3. The article's comments make for sad reading, people lapping the French stuff up. Good to see they're looking to Holland and Belgium though, there are some good options available there. Hopefully there's no incomings that disrupt the team too much, the whole Ba/Cisse thing last year is a situation i'd like to see us avoid.
  4. I think a big thing for MYM has been this is his first move. He was very comfortable at Montpellier having played there for so long and now he's been completely shifted out of his comfort zone into unknown territory. I think it was against Fulham where he smacked the ball up the pitch to nobody when he had ample time to just pass it, he just seems nervy.
  5. Fair enough, apologies, it was only the apparent lack of acknowledgement of the context that I thought was unfair. I don't think because he's been very iffy in possession at times that's completely indicative of his overall ability on the ball, it's just a matter of getting used to the different factors that come in this league. I've certainly been surprised at how sloppy he's been at times but I'm sure once he gets his head round it that it will improve, we'll just have to see.
  6. Ronaldo's so quick to judge, man. M'Biwa's a very good footballer who's had to adjust to the league, you can see he'd had his confidence knocked by the pace. You only to see how well he played at left back on Saturday as a sign of is on-ball ability. He was extremely comfortable in possession in all types of scenarios, going forward, when under pressure etc.
  7. It could be MON or McLeish
  8. Probably to everyone's benefit, including his own. Indeed.
  9. He's going to be Fergie's bitch over the next year or two. David Moyes, manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world, it just doesn't sit right with me.
  10. What a pathetic headline The article's not much better, talk about journalistic spin.
  11. The worrying thing about Pardew is that he still hasn't got this team to look like a cohesive unit on a consistent basis all season. Forget set pieces for now, simply looking like a well balanced football team that defend to a decent standard, keep the ball to some degree and threaten the opposition goal would be fantastic. It all started with the unnecessary pissing around with formations at the beginning of the year. Players lost confidence and form, the team lost momentum, Pardew made comical decisions under pressure and we've been playing catch-up ever since. He's still fiddling about as well, shitting himself when we've had 2 attacking full backs starting which led to the front 6 being messed about (see Liverpool), using Sissoko as some pseudo-striker and constantly bringing Shola on no matter the opposition. We looked a lot better last week because we went back to basics but was that a result of injuries? I'm hoping the Summer can clear his head and having less pressure will see him return to a calmer place where he makes rational decisions.
  12. Jol is overrated. He's better at certain aspects of management than Pardew, but he gets a lot of good press because he's such a likeable personality. He's got that Fulham team under-performing, they should be nowhere near the relegation scrap and have been on some woeful runs of form. I'd still take him (and see him as an upgrade) but would ultimately think he's still not good enough.
  13. I think they want Moyes because he'll learn off Ferguson without making the slightest peep in terms of wanting to stamp his own authority on the club. Effectively he'll be SAF's understudy, I think his influence will still be very strong next year.
  14. Spurs' midfield just can't compete, Huddlestone and Parker are struggling to get any space.
  15. Mata deserved the player of the year, been brilliant all season, not just for 3 months.
  16. I don't think Moyes is a good enough manager to lead such a big club and he has little experience in handling big players. His footballing style isn't much of an issue in my opinion, Man U haven't played consistently good football in a long time, they're just extremely effective in what they do.
  17. If Leon Britton can do well in this league, so can Anita.
  18. I was worried about players going but then I realised it's a World Cup season. Ashley won't sell unless it's for very good money and if we refuse to sell, players like Cabaye and Ben Arfa will just get on with it. They're the only 2 I can see getting any attention from other teams.
  19. I think he'll do better next year, as long as the Summer isn't disastrous in terms of outgoings. His work with the team is now far simpler compared to a year ago and a framework can be laid down for the squad he's got. Hopefully, with the pressure gone he'll return to the mentality that we saw at the back end of last year which was far better to watch than this turgid crap. I'd still rather have someone else but it just won't happen.
  20. Good timing. We were going to give him a run for his money next year after those 'wee club' comments.
  21. Douglas reckons he's out for the season. Also commented that Pardew apparently wanted to play him deeper to allow HBA to play a free role.
  22. What's the highest realistic possible position we can finish in? As close to top 10 would be great. I know it's a little small time but I'd fucking love to finish above the Mackems after that defeat.
  23. Thought he looked fine against West Ham, back to his usual size. I only watched it on a stream though.
