Everton vs Newcastle - Post Match Thoughts.
Gallowgate Toon replied to BlufPurdi's topic in Football
i think it will be interesting to see how the team and oba react to be honest. it was a terrible penalty but he has been excellent for the last 10 games (excluding todays game). and i wonder if Nigel Pearson can perhaps motivate the players for Man U because glenn roeder is a nice guy but a little too nice about the team but Pearson is known to be a very hard man if things are not going the right way. TBH i am not sure what to expect at Man U we might come out fighting or we might surrender because in todays game we showed signs of both. but i was listening to the radio on the way back home and i heard John Anderson say that you can not blame the penalty miss for the loss eventhough it was at a pivotal moment in the match because we did create other chances but throughout the match we lacked drive, this is probably because of the fixture congestion but these men are payed to be fit and its now that the players have to show their worth. -
have you checked wikipedia. that will tell you how prolific he was
-
on radioi newcastle they said he scored 50 penalties in his career at newcastle but the rest was open play (including free kicks)
-
He should be signed again after his masterclass in kicking
-
i think that Pav's contract runs out on January 1st. i remember he said that he wanted to play 1 more game for Newcastle.
-
i think we will get Taye Taiwo because i heard that inter are after Eduardo Ratinho from Brazil, and Ratinho is friends with Adriano. also Marseille are doing terribly in the league and he migth prefer a move away?
-
well i have only heard of Bale, never seen him play. but the basic truth is that Roeder will only sign or try to sign Baines. i am pretty sure that Roeder has never heard of Taye taiwo or most of the names that have been mentioned in this thread
-
Sigurd rushfeldt the guy i was on about before (soz my quotations won't work)
-
agree that southampton won't let him go for 3-4 million, he is a product of their youth system and they are highly protective of their home grown players and won't let them go cheaply, e.g Walcott cost a friggen bomb. bluebiggrin.gif
-
well he's not prolific but neither is kevin davies, but he wil grab a few and set more up with his headers.
-
i haven't heard that much of Bale, sounds more than capable. i don't think we should buy doyle because he has done well this season but he might be a 'one season wonder'. we need a striker but not as much as we need a left back and right back. on the striking front i would suggest a 1 year contract with a real target man, a natural target man (which sibbers isn't but he has done a good job so far) maybe Sigurd rushfeldt 35 years old, prolific even now and 190cm Tall!!! always wins headers in and out of the box we could get him for 500,000k. would be the perfect partner for Oba until we get taken over and buy a real high quality target man.
-
tbh we don'y need a CB Taylor for me is first choice, then its Moore, Ramage, Bramble and Huntington as 2nd choice or backup so in that department newcastle are fine P.S i would go for Woody when he comes available, he must have realised by now that Middlesboro are shit and not right for him
-
sevilla won't let alves go unless its 20 million or above, the chairman has already come out and said that its going to take 20 million plus to get Alves. he is a rich chairman but he is very greedy and a little tight with his wallet.
-
nope, its been more about stelios than anything. i am not sure what i think about Barton he is good but there is something about him.
-
i really wish we could have been taken over by now, then wecould get the whole list if we wanted. stupid Fred just let us be taken over already :wullie: Greedy $h1t
-
i heard his rave reviews against man united, apparently a solid performance, may look slight but he is supposed to be strong(ish) and has a good tackle. he sounds a bit like Nobby currently at RB, he does'nt look very strong but he holds off a few of his opponents so you never know

yer volz is good but prone to do a bit of "Bramble" concentration wise but physically he is just what we are looking for
-
Nelson is an excellent right back for Benfica and he IS realistic
-
I don't think Schulz would go to Bayern tbh he isn't up to their standard
-
Schulz is not the best left back in Europe by a long shot and Taiwo is a gettable target and tbh so is Baines
-
To be honest i think Newcastle look in the wrong places for players, Portugal, Germany and France have bundles of good, young, mainly cheap defensive players who would be just as effective as most defenders in the premiership i think newcastle needs to be more like Arsenal and less like Chelsea. In 5 years time the Chelsea team will be quite old or will have at least lost their legs but in five years time Arsenals young defence will have flourished into world class players. we try to buy the currently best but not the future stars and its a problem.
-
well he would be cheaper option but i would rather have Taiwo or Baines, but he still is better than Babayaro.
