Coloccini to sign tomorrow. My mate who works at NUFC thinks that Taye Taiwo may also sign tomorrow and both be announced. Really depends how quick the Taiwo deal can be done. My mate has not heard anything about Derdiyok. Problem with Smith going to Everton was wages - Ashley is unhappy at Smith / Everton wanting us to be paying a percentage of his wages for the next two years (£20k a week apparently)

A while back when we were on the verge of signing Aimar my mate was told that he was definitely not our big target for the summer. I am unsure if Coloccini is.

I think tomorrow could be a half fun day. At the very worst Coloccini deal will be announced.

    The very least, shirley?

  2. Supposed to have been on local Everton news that Smith and Love very close to signing

    What's local Everton news? :D

That lot just use a tin of paint and a wall for their news.

  3. Duff and Milner are two players who I have pretty much given up on to this point. It would be great if they can produce this when it matters and that's the key. Nice to win, but the more pleasing aspect is the football was good.

I find Duff and Milner frustrating beyond belief, Duff had a good (by his standards) second half, and Milner put in one of his more decent performances, but I would still replace them both given the chance.

The thought of playing Butt going into this season fills me with most dread, followed by the name Steven Taylor.

Everything else is coco though

  4. Imposters:

    Minor point of order

A random conversation has led to us being alerted to a nonsensical message board post from a few weeks ago that purports to be from Biffa of NUFC.com.

As we've pointed out here before, we never post on any message board and refuse to run our own for precisely this sort of reason. Don't believe the tripe.

    was this on here?

Maybe it was this post (on this thread) by Alex?

Did an alarm go off?

Surrealism will get you nowhere Alex. ;)

    Ok Biffa.

Maybe I should of been more adamant and not just replied with one of these >>

    It's time to grovel, Keegan

    By SHAUN CUSTIS

KEVIN KEEGAN will be expected to grovel in an explosive High Noon showdown with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley today.

An infuriated Ashley will demand the Toon coach:

#Shuts up — or ships out.

    #Apologises for recent remarks.

    #Pledges loyalty to the club.

#Accepts the terms on which he was offered the job.

#Accepts Dennis Wise is responsible for identifying new players.

An insider said: “Keegan will be read the riot act. If he threatens to resign or tries any of his walking-out tricks, it’ll be all over.”

Ashley was steaming with Keegan for claiming Newcastle do not have the money to break into the Premier League’s top four.

But the comment which infuriated him most was that Keegan had a great relationship with the owner — because he never talked to him.

Our insider added: “Ashley took that as a personal insult and expects an apology.”

The two come together in London today along with executive director Wise, vice-president Tony Jimenez and chairman Chris Mort.

Newcastle are reportedly keen to bring Henry back to England in the summer, while he has also been linked with a possible move to Major League Soccer in the United States.

But asked if he would return to play in the Premier League, Henry replied: "I don't know. I'm happy here at Barcelona. I still have three years of my contract left with Barcelona.

"But England... I watch every game that I see on TV. I was watching Stoke City versus Crystal Palace. I will always miss it.

"There has been since I arrived here a lot of speculation from day one but, hey, go back where? There's only one team for me in my heart. It took me a while to understand what that club, Arsenal, meant."

  7. The Newcastle slagging was rounded off by the poem below. Pathetic.

For the waves crashing mercilessly and battering sea hardened walls

For the mighty pit wheels, slowly turning, silhouetted against blackened skies

For our brave fishermen, hauling their catch for all they’re worth to stay alive

For our ships, spread across this world yet made with the hands of Wearside

For years of hurt and suffering, of empty promises and hollow dreams

For cries of anguish and pain and so many “nearly” teams

For the red and white stripes adorned so proudly, it means so much more

Our city, it’s heartbeat, our people, we will never be beaten…. for we are Sunderland

    KEEP THE FAITH

    (Paul)

They'd probably be better off reporting on the state of their union and the manager's tactical ineptitude than a woefully out of date poem.

    Just a few points :-

    There are no pit wheels.

    There are no fish left.

There are no ships made anymore they're all built in China and Korea.

But the strangest line of all  "we will never be beaten…. for we are Sunderland"

    Ahem !

They need to understand that sunderland is a town not a city, you don't see people from Blyth getting this carried away.

  8. Just finishing off my breakfast now (eggy bread & a cup of tea), making the pilgrimage on foot from Gosforth, over the moor via the offy.

Down side is i'm wearing damp underpants as the only dry pair I had were white with a red band around the top.. fuck that.

    Howay the Lads!
