From memory, every manager back to Shankly has won them some cup or other. Souness even won them the FA Cup but I don't think they "backed" him any longer than any other club would have done.

Plucking up some ridiculous positivity (stupidity) from somewhere, at least Carroll is injured in December so if Ashley chooses not to be so bloody stupid again, then at least we have the opportunity to do something about it and find back up to fight against a relegation battle.
