I have a tendency to see a couple good things and decide the player was good the whole game, so I may be wrong, but I remember him bossing a few of the Wigan boys at least a few times with some sensible passing in between.

Yeah, it might be wishful thinking on my part, but whatever the reason for it i'll take it. Just seemed too much like a coincidence that both hoofers were playing the ball on the deck more. Even Krul didn't seem to be banging it forward as much Aye, I remember a moment where Krul was signalling everyone forward for the hoof (as per usual) but then decided to roll it to Anita. I came.

Thought he was good last night, actually, and I've been a big critic recently.

I should probably expand but it's been mentioned before. I moan every time he does something like blast a left footed volley into the stand when there was room to run into, backheel it out for a goal kick for no conceivable reason or make s***-daft runs when he's blatantly offside (all last night) but, really, that is who he is. These sort of things all went for him last season and I strongly believe his lack of brain will see him go on another mega scoring run.

I really just can't wait to see him not playing wide in a 4-4-2.

I've been more impressed with Santon here than Balotelli there. There may be some bias, though. I just love me some Davide.

I expect lots of changes but I also expect Pardew to give the travelling fans a bit of respect and go for a victory instead of just trying to see the game out. I agree with Rich's team selection except I'd play Cissé instead of Shola. There's no benefit from playing Shola any more, at least Cissé might grab a goal and get some confidence going. I'd also start Simpson at CB with Tavernier RB.
