  1. Aye, it's almost as if some of us are from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. What a stupid f***ing thing to say. What? Now that was a stupid thing to say. Blaming the system, the owners, Kinnear etc is bloody stupid and pointless. They pretty much had their strongest team out and we didn't even come close. I think we would have beaten them easily otherwise. We played alright on the whole and they played well. But hey let's play the blame game all over again! That's so much more fun! I blame Owne for having muscle tissue made out of tissue paper! I blame Freddy Shepherd and John Hall for selling the club to that evil non-Geordie Mike Ashley! I blame Keegan for being a stroppy little man! yada, yada, yada, yada bollox. Two players (Owen, Viduka) from our best team. Sorry, but you can't blame injuries on this one. Jonas got 15 mins because he only just returned, as did Barton. If they are fit enough to play the 90, we win this game easily imo. Beye still isn't quite right either and Martins doesn't look very sharp. How would we win it easily? When they'd both probably be bypassed anyway with the ball being aimed far beyond their reaches. Did you watch the match? Did you see what happened after they both came on? You don't have the first clue what this means to people from this area so why bother offering comment? f***s sake What's your problem? Kaka thinks I'm overreacting. I say that when he's actually seen the Tyne Bridge, he'll have the right to tell me I'm overreacting to a derby defeat. Until then, he should keep his f***ing nose out. you're telling him he shouldnt even bother having an opinion because he's not local? classic. He's not allowed to tell me I'm overreacting, no. Fairly f***ing obvious iyam. mackems.gif Look mate - do you think Keegn would of lost that game? With players he bought? No. Not what i asked. Squirm as much as you like mate - but you know your way off with this one. f***ing disgraceful result, i know but JK is responsible for this one. The quality of the squad is not to blame for this result. I think JK is ok as an interim manager and have said that from the start. He got this one wrong, but I can remember people tearing their hair out over some of Keegan's selctions last season as well before he finally clicked by dropping Smith and Duff and bringing in Viduka and Martins. Let's not knee jerk too quickly eh? Ironic much? I never said he was a s*** manager blah blah blah, I'm not talking about his merits as manager of our club, all im saying is that in my eyes he was 90% responsible for that result, the team selection wasnt great, the subs werent great, the tactics were appaling in my opinion, he set that team out to be scared of the sunderland team, long ball etc etc. The team selection was fine going off what he'd seen previously. Geremi and Duff disappearing up their own arses is something those of us who have been watching a while have got used to, but JK obviously thought they would perform like in the last two games. The subs weren't great, I'll agree on that. If the long ball was a ploy rather than just players losing their nerve and hoofing it then I'll agree on that as well. If its fair to say Joe is responsible for tactics then what are we arguing about? I'm not convinced it was tactics which lost the game, rather than players not showing up when the pressure was on. To play pass and move the players have to want the ball, not go into hiding. Isnt this where the skill of the manager comes into play? You know, to make sure the players do this. Surely he wouldnt of let them play like that for the whole 90 if it was never the plan. Possibly. I can remember it used to happen even in SBR's time though, especially in his last year in charge. Players took the easy option and whacked it long to Shearer. So wasnt SBR ultimately responsible for that? Simple point mate.

The quality of the squad is not to blame for this result. Squirm? Of course Keegan would have won this game, like he did last year at a canter. So your point about Wise and the quality of squad is f***ing invalid if Keegan would of got a better result witht he exact same squad. Not rocket science like. Not really. The reason Ashley backed Wise instead of Keegan was because he thought the squad was so good that the manager didn't matter. Not rocket science like. Is that a reason or a wild guess? And what exactly has that got to do with this match?? If the squads the same yet you think you;d get 2 different results with different managers then the only variable here is the manager and therefore the manager is repsonsible for the loss. Rocket science is probably too much for you so how about we move it to "join the dots". Are you dim or something? Ashley is to blame for the squad situation, the manager situation and our first defeat off this lot for 8 years, first away for 28 years. Does that clear things up? mackems.gif Oh my god. that is embarressing logic, so Ashley is responsible for every single result we have this season be it good or bad? Thats borderline idiotic i'm afraid. You admit that another manager would of got a better result with the same squad but still go on to say the squad is the reason we're losing, scratch that, that is idiotic. So, same car, different drivers different results yet the cars and the builders of the car are the reason for the loss. Credit to you for being this passionate though, feel free to let that get in the way of logic. Honestly haven't got a clue what you're gibbering about now. The squad AND the manager both make a difference on the result of a football match. This is not a difficult concept. f*** me - this is impossible. do you even know how you started this debate, by blaming Wise and Asley for the quality of the squad and therefore this loss. Then you go on to say that Keegan would of got a result with the EXACT same squad. So how can you say the quality of the squad was the reason we lost this result. I've even simplified it for you and you still dont get it. Squad A + Keegan = Win (in your eyes) Squad A + JK = Loss The only variable here is the managers so that can be the only thing responsible for the differing results. That is scientific fact you bamp.

  11. Thing with Shola is that a good performance from shola is an avergae performance for someone like Heskey.
  12. Yeah, the squad is definitely the reason why we lost this game. Would love to compare the squads. If we're full strength today we get at least a draw. At least. I'd say atleast six of our starters today were better than the players in the opposite position, on paper. Nowt wrong with our squad. Some people will moan at everything, think very carefully when i ask you if keegan would of won that game? Then, shut the fuck up.
  13. Have to say, the tactics from Kinnear were shocking - he showed from the off that he was scared in that game, we have far better ball carriers than them and we did nothin but long balls. The full backs rarely got past the half way line, let alone make any overlapping runs and zero width was offered by the wingers, ball retention in there half was none existent - we panicked on the ball and didnt spread play like we should be doing. Tired of Butts hollywood balls, games like this when he should beusing his experinecs to try and slow down play and stress the importances of ball retention, not giving away stupid cynical freekicks in dangerous positions. Guthrie was non existent. Dont blame the strikers too much, although for me Shola is just too poor, technically i dont see one good consitent stregnth to his game, it was oly a few months ago when Stoke were turning up there noses at him, Martins probably should of tried to retain possession better but again the service to both of them was dire. Both players do better with the ball at their feet. Colo is a good defender but i genuinely feel that his poor aerial ability is going to be a major weakness one that may hinder him too much. He desperately needs to get someone who will dominate the ball besides him, having said that his aerial ability may still get exploited on crosses. Taylor was very poor - i dont think he's good enough at all. For me, although the indiviudal performances were poor - i'd have to say that they were a result of JK poor terrible tactics. Sunderland deserved their win though.
  14. To be fair i think its a pretty divisive topic - I would never say i wouldnt want to win a trophy by buying it but i can easily see how people (including me) would say they'd prefer to win it the "noble" way. Football is about 2 things - the skill and ability of the team and the skill of the manager in getting that team and club to perform. Once you bring in mega billions how is the skill of the manager as important, you pretty much take away one vital facet of the game by reducing the skill involved for a manager who has 15 superstars at his disposal. I dont like that about the current game, theres obviously clubs such as Real who have unlimited funds - but would i be wrong in saying that there undefined wealth is historically induced? I hate starting every season knowing that becasue we as a club dont have the wealth we will pretty much never get back into the top4 irrespective of how good our manager is that just seems pointless to me. EDIT: I know this will come across as a stupid question for the 'success starved Geordies' with that 'winning is everything mentality' but would anyone sacrifice a guarateed Carling Cup or FA Cup win in the future to make the premiership more competitive again/be able to go back to 2004 and getting the appointment right?
  15. A certain plane crash has a certain amount to do with their success tbh. How so?
  16. I see what you mean - I thought you were advocating that becoming a good team "on the cheap" was somehow more noble than doing a Chelsea etc which I think is crap. No no, i recognise the need to spend money but I do beleive that there should be a sense a regulation to how and when we spend our money, thats all.
  17. Id also like to point out that the point id like to make is that man u have got themselves into the financial situation they are in now purely by football reasons, albeit with some financial advantages from the start - id also point out that in no way have i advocated that we should try and achieve success for as cheap as possible.
  18. Is this a different Man U to the club that has bought success since time immemorial? One good batch of youngsters does not change history - going back to Liverpool in the 80s and the rest, success in the English game has always been a function of wealth. So whats your point - every single successfull club in the world has bought its success?
  19. Glad to see you've learnt the sum total of f*** all from the experience of the past 18 months. Well done. So to clarify, just for my benefit - we should be overpaying if thats whats required? Is that in reference to our current plight (low on numbers) or generally? That wasn't the point. To answer the question with another question; ever bought a coffee at an airport for £5? Sometimes circumstances dictate that you pay more than the 'market rate'. Ah ok, thats fair enough. I just think pricing in January a little too subjective, especially with the quality of player that is available around those times. Its no coincidence that alot of the big clubs dont shop in these periods becasue of this. we had this with you last year at this time. You didn't want the club to spend money in January. Do you think we will be so lucky this time ? Whats your ambition for this club ? Are you happy just staying in the premiership or do you want to be a top club and do you understand how you get to be a top club ? Look mate - id be happy to oblige you with an answer but i feel that it'd only get twisted and controted out of reasonable proportion. I have a pretty steady view on the way id like to do our business some will agree others not. I have a feeling you'd be in the latter group. My views comes from the beleif that id like to see a level playing field again but cant see it whatseover in the future. I think all this is a moot point now - implmenting a sustainalbe business plan which starts with the appointment of the right man isnt so important nowadys becasue the dollar is so powerful in football nowadays. Success is no longer built its bought and thats what i think will happen to us with our next buyer. Id love nothing more than to see the club build the club off the back of its success like Man U but all i see nowadays is fans and owners aspriing to buy success which in my opinion is a sad state of affairs - the game's losing its soul, it no longer belongs to the fans.

  22. IT'd be damning evidnece if it were to happen but I cant say that I'd be completely sold on the idea that the DOF was 100% responsible for the situation. I just dont see the difference between a DOF system and an old school chairmen. If you can get the right men for the job who are wiling to cooperate with each other - then the sytem could be extremely fruitful. Unfortunately the british game isnt geared towards cooperation.
