I suspect American ownership will be pretty much universal for all PL clubs in a few years. Perhaps this will be the first step for us on the journey to become one of the vassel entities for US franchise soccer

For the prices mentioned, they'd cost just a few million less than we paid for our club record signing. Not ideal from the perspective of just wanting to alleviate pressure

Really struggling to get perspective here - so prefacing this comment by saying the Isak news is pretty fucking raw.... But with the benefit of hindsight, the only instance I have as a reference point for taking a perennially underachieving club to the very top in my lifetime is Man City. And I'm sat here now and asking myself...would City's owners have done the same (with all circumstances being equal) as we've now done back then?

Aye, with a fair offer and representative of the player's value. Not stringing something out all summer and playing a soap opera out in public through client social media 'influencers'. Give me the Eze to Arsenal situation any day of the fucking week over this complete and utter farce which has affected the club from top to bottom. The other aforementioned club has just tanked last year's Champions League quarter finalists 3-0 at home.
