Agreed. And can Andy Gray disappear any further up Man U's collective arse? When Arsenal scored he says "Oh well that was a deflection" in that pet lip way of his, - Aye Andy and it was a goal. Now he's going on about how delighted Ferguson will be at how his team are playing, wank wank wank. They're losing for fucks sake.

I really think all this fuss about every time Barton farts on the playing field is down to three things His reputation (to state the bleedin obvious) Lazy journalism and The fact he earns 60k or so a week and journalists and bitter and twisted people absolutely detest that. Rehabilitation isnt a word they would use, but hang draw and quarter will be familiar to them.

That was kind of the point of my post. Bollocks. What did he offer then? Because he wasn't quick, his crossing was awful, he slowed play down by having to do stepovers and beat the same man a few times, he didn't have any sort of idea about finding space in the box, average movement off the ball, no decent range of passing or anything like that. All he had over Geremi was that he worked harder closing down when we defended, is that enough to make up for the lack of end product compared to Geremi? Is it s****. you forgot two other things, his woeful corners and his lack of assists (Geremi's corners are also woeful but he did have the highest number of assists last season in the team).

Just found this gem on popbitch. " Rio: not the worst Ferdinand One premiership player enjoying a transfer this summer is Anton Ferdinand. Sunderland have got themselves a gem. When asked last year by the West Ham programme to name his most treasured possession, Anton Ferdinand identified "The picture that Michael Jordan signed saying it was a privilege to meet me."

Let them build themselves up for a fall. Don't fall for the hype man, the media are building them up as if they're new Chelsea, I mean Diouf and Cisse and Chimbonda? Whoopdedoo. It must be the same media who attack every team north of London - except for Man Ure and Liverpool right? I don't get your point, where do I say the media attack every team north of London - except for Man Ure and Liverpool? What I'm saying is the media love Sunderland and Keane, especially Keane. If Keegan had spent 50 million on such donkeys the media would have been calling him worse than shoite. As it is they're "astute buys".

What I meant was that theres been so much BS surrounding all of this, theres no good reason why I should implicitly believe or trust Harris because of some notion of him being a reputable man. He works for an investment company - I wouldn't automatically trust such a person if they told me 2+2 =4. He may be telling the truth but even last week Kinnear said that he'd been told Ashley was talking to people. So you choose not to believe Harris and state that it's because there's "so much BS surrounding all of this" but then go on to use a quote by Joe Kinnear, implying you trust Joe Kinnear, to beat Harris up, when it's in fact JFK who's created 80% of this BS with his statements changing like the wind? Right. It is staggering the lengths some people will go to to try and magic up more controversy around the club. Clearly driven by some other agenda. It's called going into the far end of a fart.

But surely it makes the club a more viable option - especially in these times.

It's like she's said FFS I need to write an article about something, how can I slag off Newcastle this week? Oh aye I'll use the JFK thing and how wonderful Keano is with the press. Pathetic I tell ya. sums up a lot of this country. he may have swung a punch at someone, and set out with the intention of finishing a fellow professionals career with an act of actual bodily harm but he gives good interview therefore he's a good guy. Exactly. We'll never find out but I wonder what would happen if the Dark One ever became our Manager? Would she be joining NUSC and visiting the Irish Club?

It's been niggling away at me for a few weeks but how do you know that Keegan didn't turn down every player they suggested and that's why we're short on numbers? I'm not sticking up for Jimenez or otherwise, but no-one really knows the truth do they, apart from KK, Jimenez, Wise and Llambias?

I think Martin O'Neill didn't want to come to us, especially with Freddie in charge. Think of it, they're poles apart. They just don't fit (not in a manlove sort of way).

Are they saying that Ashley ISN'T trying to sell the club? I don't understand what it is they're trying to say. If he has a deadline of 17th October what are they on about? It seems to me they're just revelling in the trouble, same as the papers are. That nice shiny leaflet they put out was a good example, nicely designed but with zero new information on it. You can just hear them, "ooh - let's make a leaflet and a banner and some t-shirts". What jolly japes. The problem is we could be jumping out of the frying pan and into something worse. I don't see an end to it. And what happens if we don't like the next owners, does it all start again? Nigerian mafia out? South African Mafia out? I'm beginning to think that the psychic guy who said the club was doomed because of all the negative energy floating about was right.

Like it or not, that is the perception of "outsiders". Like it or not the owners will look upon NUFC as a financial investment, as the owners of NUFC have done since the club was formed. Our biggest threat is our biggest asset, the fact that 45000 + people turn up every game. I can't remember a time when I haven't thought the owners are just in it for what they can get out of the club - lots of dosh.

I love how he gets more assists than any other Newcastle player.

Phil McNulty is a glory hunting Man U supporting twat who knows nothing about us. His second team is the wonderful Spurs who he tips to break into the top 4 every year. Then sticks up for them every time they don't.
-
Are there professional agitators in the media where NUFC is concerned?
dustynrg replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
Well "professional" doesn't really go with the type of hacks we are talking about does it? It makes me sick when at the beginning of every season Spurs are touted to break into the top 4 and then when they fail miserably get barely any coverage for it compared to us. I know we are our own worst enemies but the way they went after JK and the "day off" story was just unnecessary and you'd be embarrassed if that was the only story you could come up with. I find it a bit strange the way that Wheyse keyse has gone very quiet on us, is she saving all her ammo for KK coming back? And the way they wank over ex Man U players is absolutely shocking, Roy Keane, wank wank - aren't his shoes lovely and shiny? I can't remember where I read that line ("Even Keane's shoes are sparkling and shiny") but the length they will go to crawl up his backside amazes me (it shouldn't). -

fully agree Cat But at the moment i think it matches the mood of the fans. I dont particularly like a manger whose mouth makes even a foul mouthed git like me cringe but i just cant help but think, is this the right image we want for the club atm? I really don't know. All I know is that I completely cringed all the way through reading the transcript of that exchange with the journalist and he sounded like an embarrassing drunken uncle who spoils anything decent they have to say by sounding like an ill-educated nutter. I think that's exactly what they need to be told, they've screwed this club around for far too long, about time somebody told them what for. Don't think they're shrinking little violets wilting in the corner because they've had a good talking to. If they think they'll be banned from press conference they'll soon change their tune and that's a fact. It reminds me of watching Arthur Scargill at Durham Miners Gala all those years ago. There was a posse of press men beside the stage, he turned to them and said "it's appropriate you're all together because I can tell you collectively, you're the scum of the earth" - you can imagine the cheer that got and things haven't changed, they ARE the scum of the earth. Tell it like it is JFK.

H Beye Achilles Tendinopathy 5th Oct 08 How's that 20th October?

Perhaps it's a tactic, "tell Ashley we're going to buy Everton and it might make his mind up to sell to us".

A number of senior players had told them that they needed to end the uncertainty as quickly as possible and they immediately moved into action to do that. I can't believe (well I suppose I can) that they were just going to leave the Club managerless until these "Senior Players" stepped up and told them otherwise. They couldn't manage a piss up in a brewery. What does that Llambias actually DO? I know it's Wise that's been getting all the stick but I think Llambias is at least as culpable if not more. No PR, no manners and no balls to front up a press conference or even Chris Hughton.
