Bad subs today, but not even Mourinho gets everything right all of the time. Fact of the matter is that he's got us playing some lovely football, and 3rd in the league with 15 points from 7 games. Not sure any other manager (that we could realistically attract) would have us in the same position, so he deserves credit.

I'm not even sure why he was on the bench since it was pretty clear Pardew had no intention of bringing him on. He came on -

He's seen as a left winger by Pardew and Jonas is currently keeping him out of the team. -
Before he had any idea about the state of the club.
-
He will score the winner on Saturday and he will be great again. Bruce will deserve more time to let his team gel and Brown and O'shea will have been clever signings. Then the cycle will repeat itself again and again and again and again... Not that we're any different, mind.

Does a better goals per minute ratio mean the player with the best stat's is the better player? Strikers get judged on how many goals they score.
-
Gave the ball away in the lead-up to their goal, but was actually really good today. Not that I think he should be starting, but he's certainly proven that he's going to be a very useful squad player.

Needs to continue that level of performance, he has amazing talent he's just not very smart. For somebody with a forehead that size, you'd think they had a pretty decent size brain in there but it doesn't seem to be the case.

COLOCCINI!! -
The lads a trier, you have to give him that. Doesn't have much talent, but you know he's going to play wherever he's told to and he's going to give 100% every time he steps onto that pitch. Will be a decent squad player for us this season.
-
Very frustrating player. Has the talent and skill to succeed, his decision-making just lets him down at times.

Tavernier is due back from loan too IIRC. And as mentioned, you've missed Perch (YES!!!).
-
23 appearances in 2009/10 as an 18 year old, 29 appearances last season as a 19 year old. Yeah, he's definitely 'injury prone'. Seems as though this is his only injured that might see him miss 7 or 8 games this season - which tbh is a pretty standard amount for a lot of players to miss these days.
-
How about we wait for confirmation before claiming that we'll be without him for 'months'?

I might be wrong, but aren't Northern Rock just our shirt sponsor?

Hopefully it's a blessing in disguise that Shola and Raylor were both shit. -
1-1. Ba will score his first goal for us.
-
Funnily enough, he was shite first half when he played centrally and then grew into the game when he got moved to the right hand side. His days as a CM are gone.

They both need to start, to be fair. Only way that's going to happen is if we play a 4-5-1, which personally I can't see happening. Also at those people claiming 'luck at the back'. If it's happened for 4 games, it's probably not luck -

I learnt 3 lessons today that I hope Pardew did too: - Start Ba over Ameobi - Start Santon over Ryan Taylor - Start Marveaux over Obertam -
'We've still got a better squad than we finished with last year.'

Okay, so if squad players improve the squad doesn't improve. Sort of contradicts itself but glad we got that cleared up
