What we are saying is that a smaller stand behind one of the goals with an open section or section where the city is visible behind it looks great and could work on the Arena site. You could have a 80,000 seater stadium and say at least 8,000 fans in the smaller stand. So long as there was at least 10% in the smaller stand, then you could easily have that stand for away fans only, making segregation easier, and not resulting in stewards or blankets over seats in order to segregate fans. The smaller stand so you can see the city is a good idea. To put away fans there, not so much. The visual/optics of that would be horrendous.

I think the biggest part of it is that there was college football in a lot of places long (like decades) before there were NFL/pro teams anywhere near those areas. Especially the South which is why it's so dang popular down there.

The Horseshoe where Ohio State plays has to be in there with a shout. 102k capacity (110k record attendance). The stand where this photo is taken is a single tier and holds something like 25-30k people alone. Kop who?

Without a doubt people arriving in the city by train would be hit straight away with it as they cross river. Also in line with the new American stadiums a big glass window at one end of stadium overlooking river/bridges would be something else. Obviously it would hopefully have a big tiered stand like Spurs now have to create atmosphere, though I love St Jame’s long term this would transform us. Yeah. 100% Needs to be like the NFL where replay has to show clear, conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field. Under the NFL rules that would've stayed a free kick outside of the box and would have likely not changed the match/season as much.

Re: lack of quality commentators I think the main problem is they are trying to push through a new crop of commentators that are old pros who are the "color" commentary as opposed to the straight commentary/play-by-play ie: Tyler. There needs to be the balance and no old pro wants to sit in the Tyler seat they want to sit in the color seat, and they're only letting old pros become commentators. There needs to be people getting into commentating that are okay with just being the play-by-play person like Tyler has done for how ever many decades now.
