I’ve been thinking about these kind of goals a lot recently, actually. And I think that the game is just different now. You don’t see many goals from outside the box anymore because they’re low % chance shots and I imagine they’re getting coached out in favor of higher % shots/positions/etc.

Imagine if you're like 16, 17, 18, sitting in the Chelsea academy, you've been there since age 8 and you're just looking at what's happening in the first team. Must be depressing as fuck to have been there so long and when it comes to the crucial moment you look at the gym and see 42 adults working out at once and the manager is saying half of them don't matter and won't be training with the rest. Gotta feel for the kids but fuck that club man.
