Longstaff is more intelligent off the ball and more aware of which spaces to cover than Joelinton is though. The latter isn’t the most positionally aware (defensively) and mostly relies on his physicality. For me, Joelinton’s best position is on the left wing; he can just run up and down the line without having to really think about where to be.

I think it’s fair to express the opinion that we didn’t show the best version of ourselves on the night but still be relatively happy to salvage a point at the San Siro. I don’t think this Milan team are anything special although -based on our performances this season (granted against some top competition) - neither are we .

Can’t wait to see him, Willock and Bruno in the same team (with Joelinton playing at left-wing and Gordon on the right). Think that’s our most balanced midfield on paper.
-
We’re not at it. I’ll definitely take the point though.
-
Our passing ffs.
-
Christ almighty Longstaff
-
Touch, Pulisic.
-
Hall on for Isak for me. Left-side is an issue.
-
Was gonna say, need cover on the left.
-
There’s something in this if we can string some passes together.
-
Almiron and Wilson look like they’re coming on.
-
Longstaff falling over is so annoying.
-
AC Milan aren’t anything special (player-wise) imo.
-
We’re making these look like Man City.
-
Yikes.
-
Isak isn’t particularly good at holding up the ball. Wilson is much better in that regard.
-
We’ve been doing this to all the “big teams” this year, not as brash and in your face as last season.
-
Giving them way too much respect.
-
Hanging on now.

My Bein box just broke, had this thing for 8 years without an issue and tonight of all nights, 5 mins before the game. Nightmare

He’s seemingly really coachable and has a great understanding of his role within a system. It’s why he’s largely looked good under Rafa and Eddie; his awareness kind of makes up for his relative lack of ability.

I’d say Kenny Tete at Fulham. Never gets talked about despite being a very solid right-back. Edit: Statistically the best fullback 1v1 (defensively) in Europe last season and very decent going forward too. Doesn’t get enough plaudits imo (although haven’t been paying attention to his performances this campaign).

Wonder when we’ll see him getting some minutes. Quite excited to see what he can bring to our play.
-
I’ll take that.

Dumb foul by Schar there ffs.
