1st half decent - could have scored 2nd half largely nothing and the best chance fell to them Disappointing and frustrating but not the end of the world.

How are there only 4 minutes?

Disagree on Bruno, think he’s been solid and his flick set up our best chance.
-
I think we need to get him off for Isak.
-
Problem with one footed players.
-
He put one on Miggy’s foot to be fair.
-
The left side getting much of the blame, but I think the problem starts up top with Wilson.
-
Their xG a half hour in is 0.0.
-
He’s on very thin ice now.
-
I think if Eddie uses the semi to rotate Isak in then Wilson may struggle to get his place back.

I can’t believe we really might be in the Champions League.

For me Gordon would depend on price and % of Jan/summer budget (which we’ll never know). If we think we’re getting a good deal because of his current situation and it’s not going to be one of our 2-3 biggest purchases between now and September I’d be into it. If it’s actually one of our huge buys then it does feel underwhelming.

Ornstein, Romano, and random links from another club’s local reporters (a la Isak) are pretty much all I’m interested in. The rest is mostly nonsense.

Fulham win for sure if we're being greedy. They aren't realistically a threat. Even a draw for Brighton is fine and I wouldn't be upset if Chelsea beat Liverpool.

Mahrez has been outstanding since the WC after not doing/playing much in the first part of the season.

Do we know what triggers the obligation yet or no?

A funny thing is the summer of 1998, I was 13. I went with my friend to get our hair cut at an Italian barber (it wouldn’t have been out of place in the Sopranos). My friend’s mom was Norwegian and he asked the barber to cut his hair like Tore Andre Flo. I had brought with me a picture of Shearer and asked for that. The three Italians in there could not stop laughing at me asking for a receding hairline as a style.

This is a very rosy view of dropping 2 points in the last seconds.

Just seeing this -- I went as well with my 8 and 5 year olds. We got there at 6am and it took about 90 min to get in. My kids had a good time but it was definitely too crowded. The City Hall setting is cool, but I think the mistake was not doing it at the Art Museum / Eakins Oval. Could have been a smaller version of when the NFL Draft was in Philly and having more space between the viewing areas and the other activities / concessions would make the whole thing better.

I think getting Messi on loan is just as likely.

The year is 2028. Newcastle United are a dominant force in European football with two XIs that are the envy of most clubs in the world, but N-O is still divided about whether the £25M spent on Chris Wood in January 2022 was a waste of money.

The short answer, like many others, is Alan Shearer. The longer answer is I was born in America, but my mom is English. I have dual citizenship. As a kid I spent every summer and Christmas in England. I started to become obsessed with all sports between '92-94. Around that time before I left England each summer I would fill out my fantasy team for the Telegraph (I think it was the Telegraph) and my grandma would mail it in. I have fond memories of my grandfather looking up the football scores on Teletext. World Cup '94 took things to another level and in between that and Euro '96 Shearer became my favorite player, but I didn't really care about Blackburn. I was in England on July 30, 1996 when Shearer signed and that was that - NUFC became my club. I still have the 96-97 shirt with Shearer's name on the back, but it's for a child. It was hard to follow in those days, but the internet and Soccernet.com (eventually acquired by ESPN) helped. My grandpa thought it was incredible when they would visit in the late 90s / early 2000's and I could read him all the scores, including the 2nd and 3rd division (Sheffield United and Rotherham were of most interest to him). Unfortunately I followed most of Shearer's career and the good times from looking at scores and the table with the occasional tape delayed match, except for when I was in England. Around 2005 TV coverage started to improve a bit, plus illegal streams became easier to find and it's around that time I became even more obsessed. I think I joined this forum in 2007 right when Ashley bought the club.

I think the biggest games remaining are Liverpool / Spurs at home and all of those away fixtures from Brentford down to Leeds. We took 14/18 points from the home fixtures. Can we get something similar away?

I mean, he is pretty slow. He’s just fucking awesome.

Adrenaline and a desire to keep playing would have carried him for a bit. He knew he was done before the half even ended, which is worrying.
