  1. Not going to criticize Gordon. He’s only out there because we have no options - he can’t even run properly. And yet he still should have an assist.
  2. Think we’re going to score at least 1. Not sure if we can keep them to 1 though.
  3. People wanted to see something else. Here it is.
  4. Lascelles probably out for a few weeks. Hope Botman is ready.
  5. Our away form is pretty tightly linked to both injuries and fixture congestion / fatigue and requires some context IMO. We’ve drawn three away games we were winning in the 89th minute (riding our luck in one but also one we definitely deserved to win). Today will be our 8th game this season where our opponents are playing with a rest advantage and 6 of those have come away from home. There have been complaints that we don’t really have a plan B, but I’m not sure we’ll need one in the second half of the season. I’m confident we’ll be much better away from home later in the season if we get a squad back.
  6. Far too much season left to call anything as our fixtures in the last 2+ months are very friendly and we’ll have minimal distractions. It’s very possible we go on a big run if our injury problems subside even a bit.
  7. I’d be surprised if they don’t find a way to still include 36 clubs. Could have one more group and then add some superfluous playoff knockout round. More games, more money.
  8. Eh, in the 1980s there genuinely wasn’t much money coming in to be shared, especially when split 92 ways. The game was in a bad place. I can at least understand how the Premier League came to be. This is a whole other level of greed based on the money pouring into the game.
  9. Feeling quite thankful I have no idea what you’re referring to.
  10. We probably win if he's able to maintain possession for any amount of time.
  11. From the end of last season...
  12. This will be our 8th league game this season where we have less rest than our opponent. 6 of those have come away from home.
  13. We certainly rode our luck at times in a couple of these, but were it not for a questionable penalty we win 1-0 in Paris and we did the job last night if not for Trippier's mistake. It would have been kind of fortunate but we might still be in the CL and we'd be back in the LC semifinal if not for those two moments. I think our away form is poor and also requires some additional context like the state of things heading into Bournemouth and Spurs, plus the number of late points we've dropped (which is partially fatigue / injuries and partially tactics).
  14. People are lying to themselves if they think this wouldn't be a bit of a blow. It was a big deal that we got him and it would be an equally big deal to lose him so quickly. It's especially silly to say we wouldn't be missing much because of one transfer window that is far too early to judge given the circumstances. We (pretty much all football fans and pundits) have a terrible habit of judging transfer windows in a vacuum when it's pretty obvious we are planning multiple windows ahead. We don't yet know what the next puzzle pieces are and he's not suddenly bad at his job because we bought a player with a gambling problem. But, also, bringing in first team players is only part of the job. He's been creating a new scouting and development infrastructure, setting up some version of what City / Chelsea / Brighton have been doing (see: Minteh), and working to overhaul the academy so we can hopefully have many more Miley's in the future. He's not irreplaceable and the new owners have been on the money with their appointments, but it would definitely be a setback and the fact it would be Man United makes it even worse.
  15. Gordon, Miggy, and Wilson all really need to rest. I'm sure Isak would benefit from another few days. Bruno also needs a rest, but we seemingly can't afford that at the moment. Lascelles also seems like he needs a rest. Don't know how to change it, but we also can't go on like this.
  16. Could be wrong, but I think that's misleading. Many of those "passes" were more like clearances with no one available.
  17. Gordon has to be off. It doesn't even matter who goes there - could be Dummett if necessary.
  18. We desperately need to be able to rotate our wingers. Gordon and Miggy running on fumes hurts so much of our play.
  19. Without 29 year old Raheem Sterling in their team I don't think I'd be worried about anything. Felt that way in the home game too.
  20. I'll be pretty disappointed with him if he leaves this quickly despite recognizing the draw of the opportunity. I'd like to think we'd demand significant compensation and also make it take as long as possible.
  21. Aside from the obvious reasons it'd be nice to win a trophy, I'd love the security it would presumably give Eddie. It'd be nice to not be reading or talking about his job with every dip in form.
