  1. I'm not sure any of us would be complaining about cringeworthy videos if we were spending 25-30m and up on exciting players.
  2. If they need money then sell before the deadline. This doesn't prevent clubs from doing anything they do now, it just shifts the timeline.
  3. I like how they don't show him in a Madrid shirt, instead showing Ronaldo.
  4. Can't grumble. Not doing such fancy videos is what allowed us to afford Joselu. Those clubs pay for those videos. Remembering that just makes it funnier. They also pay for players worth making videos for.
  5. The most inexcusable one. Unlike any outfield positions we could find a first choice keeper for 5m or less.
  6. Much easier to say no to a player/agent when the answer is "we cant replace you so you can't go" as opposed to now where it's "there's not a lot of time to replace you." The first couple years may have some headaches for clubs trying to hold onto players but once a couple precedents are set it will be fine. This will force all of Europe to change the timeline on which they move in the market since so much money is coming out of the PL. Because of that I think it's very possible this starts a change across other leagues. UEFA may even decide it's a good thing to have final squads before the CL qualifiers.
  7. Check out Togga, way better. We used to use draftfantasyfootball.co.uk, which is also better than this nonsense the official site shipped well before it was ready.
  8. Likely has more to do with this impacting their ability to buy and shuttle players between the clubs they own.
  9. No chance they will get 25m for him but we won't pay whatever it ends up being either.
  10. I'm thrilled about this - been wanting it to happen for years. Also a great thing for draft fantasy leagues.
  11. Great, now buy a keeper with the money saved.
  12. Same, I'm expecting him to miss at least half the season right now.
  13. From the Telegraph article about Rafa wanting five more:
  14. I think Rafa's main frustration lies in the fact that he had a plan to fill the positions he identified as areas of need and a big part of that plan started with Abraham and Caballero and we fucked it up. Now 2 months later we still haven't signed anyone in either of those positions, likely because we've found other options at similar talent levels to be too expensive.
  15. Antonio, Hernandez, Ayew, Arnautovic, Lanzini, and (maybe) Carvalho is miles better than mercenary squad QPR put together. Have no idea how Carvalho will improve them but as of right now all those names haven't exactly made them a good team. They've played one game against a team that may be a legitimate title contender. Also, I'm far from convinced by Bilic - the right manager could figure out how to put those pieces together up front (it likely includes at least one of the above on the bench). I am saying that based on more than just yesterday mind, they haven't looked like a good team in a long time. They just look like a team of individuals who in reality are not as good as they think they are. I don't disagree with that, but half of the players I mentioned above are new and Ayew missed more than half of last season. Think the jury is out on whether they can form a cohesive team. Their defense will likely be a problem. Imagine the mood on here if we had signed Hernandez, Carvalho, and either Lanzini or Antonio this summer.

  18. I really despise West Ham Imagine being envious of a club owned by Gold and Sullivan. And yet...
  19. I don't think he'll leave imminently because as he says he brought players here who wanted to work with him, but think he'll give us a season then go regardless. He won't trust assurances from Ashley ever again, he'll only trust action and there isn't much time left for Ashley to prove he wants to do anything at all. Think this is probably right. If they want to keep him, and I'm not sure they really give a shit, I think they have the rest of this window and January to prove something to him.
  20. Is it possible to hide a thread?
  21. Think Robbie Earle said it right. Something like "If that tackle was Shelvey on Kane we might be talking about a different color."
  22. The type of person we need to buy us likely wouldn't blink at throwing an extra 20-30m in to remove all stipulations. There aren't many of these people though.
