  1. Must mean Longstaff is off to Barca.
  2. I think one of the things likely setting some people up for disappointment or confusion in this window is the general perception of Gordon vs. how Ashworth / Howe view him. We know Howe eases players in and we heard from the player himself that his fitness was not up to the standard. Assuming he fixes that I think it's a mistake to assume our first XI doesn't include him or that he's at least not a big part of our plans. I think comments like "Howe clearly likes Joelinton more at LW" or "why did we pay £45M for a squad player?" are making potentially faulty assumptions. It's not clear to me if we like him for his versatility and may use him in a number of positions moving forward or if we used him in a few places out of need. But if we don't bring in an obvious RW or we sell Maxi and don't replace him or if we don't bring in competition for Longstaff then I think it's possible the answer to any of those is Gordon.
  3. That's this video: https://twitter.com/ChampionsLeague/status/1663470301437640704?s=20
  4. There is nothing of substance going on here.
  5. It doesn’t. The third place equivalents (teams 17-24) will be in the new playoff against the 2nd place equivalents (#9-16). The losers of those plus teams 25-36 are eliminated from Europe.
  6. They only have one more season to pull off this double dipping feat (though so do we).
  7. I hadn't even thought about the UK times of these. Since it's a Sunday I'm surprised the Philly matches aren't earlier. I thought it might be heat related, but Fulham/Brentford will be playing in the hottest part of the day.
  8. I think the confusion is both of those are the second part of doubleheaders. Fulham v Brentford is first in Philly and Brighton v Brentford in Atlanta, so the official site is listing the kickoff time as the first game. The Brighton match is correct because it is the only game.
  9. He’s on around £150k a week. Would love him here.
  10. Think that will work out very well for them unfortunately.
  11. Looking at some coefficient stuff it will most likely take 1.5-2 seasons in Europe just to get our club coefficient to the country coefficient number we’re using now. We should get cozy in pot 4 for awhile if we make the CL again. Although competitively it doesn’t seem like Pot 4 is that big of a deal in the new format. Also, I missed the fact that the new format does away with dropping into the Europa League from the CL, so this is the last season of that.
  12. ESPN just sent me a notification about our interest in him, but it’s referencing The Sun.
  13. I'm in 111 (the NUFC section) in Philly. And I think 128 in Jersey.
  14. I think he put something in here to avoid turning another thread into a Man Utd. debate. I don't really see the big deal - I'd be fine if we had a thread for a bunch of clubs, especially the ones that have supporters on here.
  15. Yup, it's why part of me believes the Veiga link. The best info is either going to come from someone connected to the selling club (a la Isak) or potentially one of the big national/international guys (e.g. Ornstein). The latter probably more likely if it's a big deal.
  16. I don't know but can they sell him to us for a bit less?
  17. This is probably closest to the truth. Or his fiance is pissed that their honeymoon is being cut short by Brazil friendlies and he's venting on Twitter.
  18. Meh, he'd probably be an unreal player if he was fully bought in, upped his fitness, etc. But he seems like a headache just waiting to happen.
  19. I'd agree with this line of thinking for an older player or a very expensive player, but not for a relatively cheap 21 year old who could still improve.
  20. It's old and kind of sad at this point, but I will never not find Wiki edits amusing.
  21. This is what I’ve been waiting for … a new name out of the blue that is possibly close to done.
  22. Should have mentioned I'm in the US. Lots of middle of the night kickoffs.
  23. Not sure I'd put any weight on when Lee Charnley got around to it three years ago.
  24. Maybe there's something to it, but could also just be timing. Most of those happened in the first half of the season and then Brighton/Brentford were after they won the league and were playing a different XI (which is still better than most tbf).
  25. World Cups and Olympics in this part of the world kill some of the enthusiasm for me given the match times.
