  1. Doumbia sounds like a good option to me. Gomis would be a disaster.
  2. Surely someone smarter than me could also give him some projections on how much players would be worth if they were playing for a high performing team (and thus playing well). The manager would pay for himself. It's all about control and power and it's so fucking irritating because we could be something.
  3. I know this has been said a million time, but I really don't understand this guy. We're potentially going to bring in 5 or 6 players this month for 30-40m pounds. If he got a list of the top 20 managers in the world and started calling each them offering some ridiculous sum of money (like 10m/year) he'd get one of them to bite. Do the same for a top director or 'rising star' in the business and these January sprees won't be necessary and we'll earn more in prize money.
  4. Douglas probably has no idea who he is. I wouldn't worry about what he says.
  5. Yeah, it really should be Sports Direct's association with NUFC and a study on how that relationship impacts the club. Filled it out though, the one section with outdoorsy/romance, etc. is pretty strange. Guessing you had to include that.
  6. Yes, he'd quickly be our 5th injured LB. Would still snap their hands off though.
  7. We beat Liverpool at home. It was early in Klopp's management - do you think we would do it now..?? Or when we got to Anfield..?? No, we'll probably lose at Anfield. But Norwich just played them at home. That was my point. You made it sound like their valiant loss to them was better than we could do. Because we beat Liverpool at SJP and Norwich lost to them at home is no guide how the 2 teams will finish - we used to beat Leeds - the best side in the country then - regularly at SJP in the 70s but we still finished below lots of teams who lost to them at home. What the Norwich game shows is that Norwich DO have goals in them and as you know, we don't....unless we sign a decent striker we are not going to win the crucial games we need to win to avoid relegation Not at all what I was saying.
  8. Cahill would be a spectacular signing. No chance.
  9. He'd be great for the 3 matches per season he would be fit.
  10. Does this mean we can buy a defender now?
  11. Need more standups. Daily isn't cutting it. Let's go hourly. More post it notes too. McClaren needs to do a better job of grooming his backlog.
  12. That doesn't even make sense. It's difficult to create velocity if a team has core members changed mid-sprint or even mid project. What's difficult to understand? I don't know, maybe you comparing a football team to agile software development? It's nonsensical. Why not use the words "chemistry" or "understanding" like a normal human being?
  13. That doesn't even make sense.
  14. Can't make it up. We're a disgrace.
  15. I like the idea of playing a game... against literally any other club in the world.

    Loïc Remy

Are we really arguing about the loyalty of modern day professional athletes? 99% of them want to make as much money as possible, live in as cool place with as many attractive women as possible, and grow their personal brand. And I don't begrudge them for any of that. Team accolades come after. In some ways it's admirable that Remy doesn't try to hide this.
  17. Agreed, feels like 90% of the forum uses stats these days Maybe because every advanced club in the world is increasingly using stats to guide their decision making. And not goals and assists, but really advanced metrics. Eventually some of that stuff will become available to the general public and it will be glorious.
  18. I'd probably hate them five years from now, but would be amazing if Leicester catapulted themselves to become one of the elite.

Berahino? Yeah, discussed in the transfer rumours thread. Has to be Berahino/Pulis.
  20. Good to see progress being made...

I think Remy could score 10 goals between now and May and I think he'd guarantee our survival. Should do anything and everything to get him here.
  22. He'll play on the left. All he said was the two of the most high profile positions you can play in at Newcastle were upfront and on the left, and that he would be playing in one of them i.e. the left. Not basing it on the quote. I agree I think he'll play on the left, but I think there's an experiment in our future.
  23. I really am starting to wonder if we're planning on trying him up front, like our version of Walcott. Not all the time but in certain situations.
