What if we need to trim the squad and he's one of the only real offers we have? What if we need to cut wages and he's only of the only options? What if the club think he's declining and this is the last chance to shift an aging keeper? What if we are worried he'll be sulking for the next four months? What if we don't think there's that much of a difference between him and Darlow? I think it's worth considering all of these questions (as well as the fact that we don't even know all the details of the offer) before saying we've made some colossal mistake that is largely being driven by the emotion of it being Manchester United. -
Now replace Shelvey with someone with legs and then we have Willock and Shelvey (second half of season) as decent second choice. Longstaff becomes the 6th option, which is fine. Then we also have Anderson who can potentially cover a more attacking position. Up front we have a choice between Isak and Wilson, Almiron as the backup on either wing, Anderson, and then Murphy. A DM or a versatile CM won't fix everything, but it definitely goes the furthest in terms of adding both first XI quality and depth.

He covers the club we're all here for so I'm not sure why that's surprising.

Such an insufferable prick

We are not in a position to have the luxury of strength in depth all over. Is GK really the priority? I'd much prefer to have more depth in the midfield or up front. -

No point in bringing in an upgrade for next to nothing? How is that logical? -

It's possible getting his wages off the books (£44,000/wk) plus a loan fee was part of the equation for getting Isak or is key to bringing another in. Not to mention the player very clearly wanting the move. -
Anyone know if we now have a hyperbaric chamber at the training ground or if this would be offsite? I'm just curious how far we've come from the inflatable pool.

Prefer Paqueta at West Ham. If he went to Liverpool, Spurs, or City I'd be worried about Bruno heading that way eventually.
-
Wish we could have played that at full strength but every point away from home is a plus.

Injuries threatening to derail our season before it starts. Need a couple more this week.

I think someone told me the other day that keeping Dubravka was more important than getting a CM in.
-
Broja almost seems free in that deal. I’d happily swap Gordon for Gallagher and 25m.
-
Not that I want him out, but could be good timing like Wilson. We really need another CM. If that’s why Dubravka needs to go then so be it.

Maybe a couple decades ago.

A niggling that he’s missing out on the NUFC revolution. -
If we keep operating the way we appear to be then I think the important thing to keep in mind moving forward is, in most cases, those using sources tied to NUFC are only going to get information the club wants out there. For example, we may be done other than loans and we're fine saying so. We may also be using Edwards as the negative little mouthpiece he is as a tactic. Maybe that's where the depressed budget numbers came from too, who knows. Breaking news on transfers is almost certainly going to come from elsewhere, whether that's someone like Ornstein, someone with connections to a particular agent, or local reporters of the other club.
-
I still think Romano's info was real from either Watford or Pedro's agent and then one or a combination of both of these things happened: It's certainly fair to say he jumped the gun on calling it though.

Spent too much, balance sheet is a mess, FFP crisis looms in 2025/26.
