  1. Going to be really pissed off at both him and the PL if he's suspended again.

    Sol Campbell

His next game should be Stevenage.
  3. Anyone remember how many points Hull got before their collapse?
  4. Yeah, but he was miserable here and wouldn't have done us any good. Certainly would have left after getting relegated.
  5. Not having a go at you in any way Roger, just picking up on something, but the very thought of "persuading" players of such modest talents as Joey Barton to "accept" 50,000 pounds a week shows why I am so revolted by football these days. I don't mind the top players making their stupendous salaries, it is sheer averageness of the likes of Barton (or at our place Sidwell) picking up this kind of money that makes me want to stop bothering with the game any more. I don't know why people begrudge professional athletes for making as much money as they can. Yeah, they make ridiculous amounts, but that's what they're worth to their club/league/sport. Plus their careers, depending on the sport, are only a few years on average. If you had a special skill and were in the top percentile in the world at applying that skill wouldn't you push for every last penny that you could make? Now pretend that you're not especially good at anything else and only have 10 years (generous in some cases) to earn your living. Yeah, of course I would. I don't - and didn't in the above post - blame Joey Barton for one nanosecond for getting as much as he can out of it. I'd be filling my boots as well if i could. I do blame professional football in this country for being sufficiently dimwitted and out of touch with reality to pay such mediocre players such absurd sums of money, whilst we, the paying punters, fork out through the nose on season tickets, sky subscriptions etc etc to fund it all. The game in this country is heading for a very, very rude awakening. Yeah, I guess I'm just used to it though. Every major sport in America is like that. The way TV broadcasts are handled in England is what amazes me. I can watch every game of every local team in my area (NYC, so there are many) with just a basic cable subscription. You can pay extra if you want access to every single game in a single sport (NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra Innings, etc.). I can't believe all PL matches aren't televised and available live.
  6. That's the club's fault. He shows up, does what he's told, and appears to try his best. He's just not very good.

  8. Not advocating that we sell him, but £5m could be great business for him. With the way he's played this season it's easy to forget how often he's been injured. I guess the question is can we get by with Gosling? If only we knew when HBA would return.

    Alan Pardew

good man, can everyone else get on this too? Already did it. Done buying any and all merchandise as well.

    Alan Pardew

wouldn't you want them trying to sort out someone in case things didn't work out rather than leaving it till they've decided to get rid ? Things were working just fine.

    Alan Pardew

He's not panicking. This has been the plan for a long time. He just waited for Chris to have a weak run to give him the sack. Off topic, but can you imagine this place if we got bought by some Qatari folks? Makes me laugh just thinking about it. Would be the happiest place on the planet, at least until we found out he's actually the poorest man in Qatar.
  12. Good, at least Arsenal won't back their way into top spot now. Barca, Madrid, Bayern, or Schalke await. Hope they get Barca and get embarrassed.

    Alan Pardew

    Kinnear/Pardew tandem FTW.

    Alan Pardew

How the fuck is Alan Pardew going to attract Sky cameras? Appointing a proper manager and winning some matches is the best way to be televised every week. If that's true it's just pathetic.
  15. Wouldn't have a problem with them doing this, the FA would probably come down on us like a ton of bricks though. Think it's one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever seen on here.
  16. I think he should be believed anyway. He was right about Hughton going and clearly there's something to the Pardew story. If Ashley shocks everyone and hires Jol because of his sudden availability it doesn't mean Golfmag had it wrong.
  17. Didn't the ESPN article say he was flying in for an interview? Him being in Newcastle would just confirm that. While it would be positive news to know he's being considered, it certainly doesn't mean he's the one. I fully expect Ashley to make the wrong decision here.
  18. My thoughts exactly. So you don't think it makes a difference who the next manager is? We're destined for a certain spot in the table whether it's Jol or Pardew...Mourinho or Souness?

    Golfmag

    Any predecessors there? Sillius Soddus
