Pardew seems a bit of a risk-taker with some of his comments like. Nevertheless, I think he appears very honest which is great. A comment like that could have a detrimental effect on players, but ultimately it may get them to up their games and prove their real worth. As mentioned, it makes us the underdogs, not that we need our own managers comments for people to make us that these days like. Regardless though, it keeps expectations relatively low, but the back to the wall/come out fighting spirit high. This alone should see us come out at 200% both on and off the pitch. Tottenhams real task is to contain us for the first half an hour.

Really impressive defensive stats there, but they all depend on context too. i.e. Who we were playing, where we were playing, what players were playing, etc. Nevertheless, I definitely think we've improved defensively though.
